Malala attended a school that her father – Ziauddin Yousafzai- had founded. After the Taliban tried to take control and began attacking girls’ schools in Swat, she gave a speech in Peshawar. The title of this speech was called ‘How dare the Taliban take away my basic right to education?” Since she was 11, she had been blogging about living under the Taliban rule (the complete ban of woman working outside the house or going to school) for the BBC. Later on, she started appearing on television as a spokesperson for education for girls. This resulted in the Taliban issuing a death
