In the article about Mahatma Gandhi it gives many details straight from the source. First of all, the article is written by a person who worked and knew Gandhi; therefore this source is a primary source and gives facts and more in depth details to what happened to Gandhi. However, as a result, from this article being written by a person who knew Gandhi there is bias, and people may think otherwise of the event that is occurred. In addition, the article doesn’t just give plain facts, the author tells a story that …show more content…
It gives an image of his personality by saying, “Truth and nonviolence is what he taught. Same were the principles for which he fought.” It also gives perspective from a person whose life was changed by Gandhi and the way he taught. Although, of course having it written by a person who is inspired by and admires Gandhi there is bias, because others may differ in opinion. The poem is fairly easy to read with no really challenging words in it. On the other hand, the article doesn't give any background knowledge about Gandhi; therefore you may need to know who Gandhi is before you read the poem. Also, the poem only gives some facts about what Gandhi did; however they are less reliable because they may have words in there to make the poem sound better/ …show more content…
Therefore, having many facts and details about the person there is no need to already have that knowledge about the event. Furthermore, having many facts in the biography and having the biography being really long it isn’t engaging to many people. The biography is straight facts and the truth, therefore there is no bias in the article, which won’t lead to any conflict when people read it. Also, it doesn’t appeal to the person’s emotion because they didn’t give many in depth detail about the events that really hooks the reader’s attention. The article also talk about the aftermath of Mahatma Gandhi and the impact that he left on people. For example at the end it says, “Gandhi's life and teachings have inspired many liberationists of the 20th Century, including Dr. Martin Luther King in the United States, Nelson Mandela and Steve Biko in South Africa, and Aung San Suu Kyi in Myanmar.” Finally, the biography is a higher reading level because it contains many hard words such as, incarceration, and

    To analyze his movie, I have to watch three or four times. The film Gandhi begins at the end, on the other hand, it shows Gandhi being shot by an assassin at public events. He was killed because of the spilt of Hindu and Muslims in Pakistan and India. Making it clear that when Gandhi died it was a national tragedy.     The movie “Gandhi” is a biographical account that brings major events of Gandhi’s life, to life. The movie begins in Southern Africa, 1893, Gandhi is kicked off a train for travelling first class, because of his race. This event made Gandhi realize that these laws are biased against certain races. Gandhi experienced, and embodied the “See, Judge, Act” method first hand. He saw what was going on, judged that these laws are morally wrong, and acted on it. Gandhi then decided to start a non-violent protest campaign for the rights of all Indians in South Africa. Throughout his journey Gandhi received multiple arrests and a lot of negative attention from the world, and soon enough the government finally decided to recognize rights for Indians, but not for native blacks of South Africa. This victory results in Gandhi getting invited back to India. He is now believed to be a national hero. He is soon advised to fight for India's independence against the British Empire. Gandhi recognizes the recommendation, and starts a non-violent non-cooperation campaign of unprecedented scale. This coordinated millions of Indians nation-wide. However, there were setbacks.     Gandhi was not a great speaker, did not have a very attractive appearance, lived asimple life and avoided the spotlight as much as he could, but he is still regarded as one of the most exemplary persons to have ever walked on earth. The reason is because he always believed in himself. The first example of his fearlessness was his creation of the concept of satyagraha, a non-violent way of protesting against injustices or civil disobedience.* Even though some believed that this tactic was weak, Gandhi did not believe in punishing the "enemy" but to gain independence by befriending them.* He did not believe in a winners and losers, just as long as the problem was fixed, there was no need for bloodshed. The second example was his works for Indian equal rights in South Africa. At age 23, Gandhi suffered his first taste of discrimination when he was traveling in South Africa to work on a case (when he was still practicing law) and the railroad officials told him to move from the first class section of the train to the third class section because he was Indian. When Gandhi refused they threw him off the train.
