21 October 2014 This cartoon is called Mad Tom in a Rage from 1802 by Anonymous. Jefferson is shown drunk, and the devil behind him to pull down the government. Jefferson made the Embargo Act, where the congress passed it, the Embargo Act did not allow any trade to come in and out of the U.S. Jefferson expected it to not be a law for long since he believed that the British and French would desperately ask for their trade. But it turns out that both Great Britain and France resisted the temptation. It was an embarrassment to Jefferson and it brought down America's finances.
