01/05/2014 Individual Work –The Hitch-Hikers Guide To The Galaxy
Customize a license plate for Arthur Dent:
GON FAR
I chose this as a custom license plate because it represents the travels, that Arthur Dent was forced to attend through the Galaxy. Since they ended up getting pretty far, it makes sense that it says “GON FAR”.
Design a video game for Arthur Dent’s adventure with Ford: FRONT COVER BACK OF GAME In this video game, the player adventures as Arthur Dent. The player experiences waking up to Ford, randomly in a spaceship being told the Earth has been destroyed. The adventure really gets strange when the guys get sucked up from space, sure they were dead men, into a weird vortex that leads to a strange interior of a spaceship. The ultimate objective of the game is to find the secrets of the Galaxy, and discover the true answers to why 42 is the number that explains everything.
Write five headlines:
“Earth gets destroyed, two survivors escape on Volgan ship!” – This has significant meaning to the story, because it brings us back to the start, where everything went wrong. The only reason this could be a headline is that Arthur and Ford got caught by the Volgans.
“Two Hitch-hikers found aboard Volgan ship.” – This is an important headline. After they were found, Ford and Arthur were read the worst poetry in the universe, and kicked off the ship to what was almost their death.
“Ford and Arthur somehow survive getting thrown off a spaceship!” – This seems like a good headline, because no one who reads the story could possibly imagine that they would have survived such an event.
“Hitch-hikers find that 42 is the explanation to the whole universe!” – The fact that they were even that much closer to the answers they wanted to have about life, is amazing enough for a headline to get an article read.
“Hitch-hikers from Earth with Bounty headed for end of the galaxy.” – This headline is cool

The first thing that readers and critics usually notice about Douglas Adams's novel, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, is that the book, written in a sharp and witty style, is remarkably funny. What may seem less obvious to readers, and what has often puzzled critics, is the meaning behind this light, clever exterior. David Leon Higdon has noted that imagining the end of the world has long been a tradition in science fiction, as it has been in myth and theology; and Brian Aldiss has observed the tremendous impact that the invention of bombs, which could conceivably cause the end of the world, have had on science fiction and science fiction writers. But while Adams's book does describe the destruction of the earth, his humorous, irreverent treatment of this subject does not fit neatly into the traditions described by Aldiss and Higdon.…

As our knowledge of the universe expands, so does our imagination. Today’s science fiction movies, such as Interstellar, are based on new discoveries and research that older movies, such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, did not have. However, both movies stayed true to science, etc…

To start with, Holling Hoodhood “friends” would be gone because he participated in the play and he wore tights and while the whole school came and laughed at him and he didn’t lose it. Imagine that if that happened to you, it would be horrible right. But then someone forgets their line right in front of you and you stand there and wait tell he says something. It would be funny for the crowd but inside it's more frightening that a rattlesnake(well maybe no but still). This fades into the next example, after the show he had to run in the cold all the way to the sports store. Holling Hoodhood went there to see the one and only Mickey Mantle and the Mickey looked at him and laughed at him because he was wearing tights and threw his ball that Holling Hood gave to him to sign and Holling stared at at him with a blank face and left. So the last one for this topic is about the story of the shipwrecked to the bottom of the earth. If the Captain didn’t keep his mind to getting to Antarctica, you can call him dead meat. In other words if got distracted by something he would of died. For this you have to be concentrated and if anything at one second goes wrong you're a gonner. The captain must of blocked out everything everyone says cause he was always strict. For an example, when the men were joking around on land (more so snow) he would be strict. and let's say it a very tense…

The most crucial element of any story is the plot and through it, the author associates the theme of the novel. The title plays a great role in the short story. It gives the audience an immediate idea of what the story is going to be about. This particular title, "The Day The Children Vanished', suggests to the audience a mystery surrounding children. Since all children are seen as being innocent, this makes the audience at once sympathize for them. As the story advances, the condolence is extended to the parents who are the heirs of the children. Through the frantic parents, the author now begins to examine human behavior and how it reacts when faced with fear and anguish. The inciting event, when the parents begin to realize that there was no factual explanation for the disappearance of the children and the idea of them vanishing into thin air seemed saner. "Some kind of gag. We can't figure it out, the bus never came through the dug way." (Trooper Teliski, pg 410). This inciting event provides space for the mind to grow increasingly paranoid and illogical. In the midst of all the confusion, the first reactions of the townsfolk were to blame the formerly respected Jerry Mahoney. For example, Mr. Goreman, Mr. Peabody and a few others headed by trooper Telinski, stormed into the house of Pat Mahoney and demanded information linking Jerry…

In the entertainment world, portraying women as evil forces is very popular. By doing so it adds entertainment value to the film and or novel. After reading the play Macbeth by William Shakespeare it has become evident that women are portrayed as dangerous forces that emasculate and ruin men.
