Ecstasy 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) is a synthetic drug that alters mood and perception (awareness of surrounding objects and conditions). This type of drug can lead to problem with learning and memory (Stevens, & Smith, 2012).
According to National Institute on Drug Abuse (2016), ecstasy is chemically similar to both hallucinogens and stimulants(cocaine) because it also produces feelings of increased energy, pleasure, emotional warmth, and distorted sensory and time perception. Both are addictive drugs which an individual can have long-term health problems from using such drug.
