Luke Swanson Case Study
Luke Swanson is the new athletic director of Plymouth High School. He is a familiar face seen around school because he was a history teacher in the IB program and the activities director of Plymouth. Being the activities director of Plymouth High School is hard work. The activities director (also known as the congress advisor) is in charge of helping the students run events like homecoming, pep rally, tailgate, snowcoming, Mr.Park. These events require months of planning and preparation for it to go down as a success. In the beginning of the school year our previous athletic director gave a two week notice of his leaving. Mr. Swanson was assigned to substitute his position until the process to hire a new candidate was complete. Mr. Swanson

As a result, I decided to conduct my interview with a professional that is associated with the business operations of athletics. The person that I interviewed was Dawn Reynolds, the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business and Finance here at the University of Miami. As a past president of the College Athletics Business Managers Association, she was named the College Athletic Business Manager of the Year in 2003 and has since served on various committees including the ACC Finance Committee and chairs the NCAA Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee.
