Lubbock's Character Influence
John Lubbock once wrote “Your character will be what you yourself chooses to make it”, do you believe your character is determined solely by you or if it is influenced by others? I believe that you are influenced by what you see, and that helps determine your character. Because of the media, parents , and your peers, your character is influenced.
Beginning with, the media influences you in ways you don’t even know. Nowadays people are always on their phone on some sort of social media, this makes it hard not to see certain things on the internet. A majority of people may look up to celebrities and copy their views and attitudes. Fake news is a nearly unavoidable thing in today’s society and it may impact your character through spreading misleading information that may cause bias towards certain things. You can’t tell me that if your best friend was doing an activity that you wouldn’t want to do it with them. Everyone wants to fit in so they may pick up some attitude and behavioral changes from their peers and friends to blend in. You trust your friends so if they say something that may not be true it might impact your decisions toward someone or something in the future.
