Loyal friends
Loyal friends are something that we all wish we had more of. You know the friends I'm talking about they are the ones who show you complete devotion and will always back you up without question. Loyal friends are something we all need. Everyone needs someone they can trust.

Loyalty is a very good trait to look for in your friends. If one of your friends is loyal to you then you know they will never betray your trust. This is very important in my eyes because nothing is more annoying then when you tell your best friend something that is supposed to be kept between the two of you, and then you come to find out that they told the whole school what you said. You are left feeling betrayed and stupid because you trusted that person.

There are many other benefits to having a loyal friend. For instance, you will have someone that will always be there for you when you need them. Also, it is nice to know that you always have someone watching your back. It is also good to have true friends. These friends can shoot down untrue rumors about you and prevent them from spreading, which saves you a lot of trouble and frustration. Loyalty is a good trait to look for in people but loyal people are usually hard to come by.

In my opinion I would rather have one or two very true loyal friends than a whole bunch of "school" friends. I would define school friends as follows: someone that you hang out with at school but rarely do stuff together out of school. Many of these school friends that you hang out don't really care what your going through. They may act like they are your friends but in actuality they don't care. They just want someone to hang out with at school. But on the other hand you have your true loyal friends. These people are most always less in number than your school friends but far more valuable. You can easily tell when talking to your true friends because they care about what you're going through and they will help you in any way they can. That is why I would much rather have a couple of good loyal friends as opposed to a bunch of school friends. I suppose there are some people who would argue against my opinion, though I think the number of these people would be very small. There would be some that would say in high school you do not really need loyal friends. They say that high school is all about having fun and being friends with everyone. Also that after high school there is a very little chance that you will talk to or hang out with your high school friends after you graduate. You shouldn't worry about having loyal friends. Besides almost everyone in high school gossips about people behind their back, and it would be hard to gossip about people if you are a loyal friend. While their argument was weak and somewhat foolish, I would guess there are a few who would agree with this opinion.

In conclusion, loyalty is a great trait to look for in friends. A true loyal friend won't tell your secrets to the world. Loyal friends always watch your back. No matter what the circumstance, you can always count on them to back you up. There is a big difference between school friends and your true friends. Usually your school friends greatly outnumber your loyal friends.

There would be some that would argue that loyal friends are bad. To these few and foolish people I would say, think about it. All your so called friends could really care less about you, and you have no idea who would back you up if you needed it. We all need a few loyal friends because we all need someone that we can trust and tell anything to and know that they won't tell the whole world. If it none of us had any true loyal friends it would be a lonely life for all of us. You would go through life not knowing who you could or couldn't trust, and it would be miserable. So if you are lucky enough to find a true friend you should hold on to them because you probably won't run in to many people like that throughout the rest of your life.

They end up making it through many hard trials because of the trust and loyalty they have for each other.
