Love Solitude And Life
Love, Life and Solitude Life might be long or quite short, full of happiness or pain, but there is no exact answer to the question that what can make it meaningful. Someone chose love because they believed that life must be shared with the one; someone thought that life itself was amazing enough; but others chose to stay alone because they enjoyed the freedom that solitude brought for them.
Even if love will hurt us occasionally for a variety of reasons, but there are still so many people regarding love as the most important thing in life. In Les Misérables, Victor Hugo writes,” The supreme happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved” (98). It cannot be denied that we will be very happy if somebody cares us every day. When we have trouble, we can get comfort and help from them; when we have accomplishment, we can share our pleasure with them. Whenever we need them, they will always be there and let us know that we are accompanied, supported and protected. It is a great feeling, isn’t it?
Actually apart from love, there are many things in life for us to care about. Mark Twain once said having good friends, good books, and a sleepy conscience was the ideal life for him. So life can just be simple if only we could enjoy it. I remember the moment my friends suddenly appeared and give me a surprise; I remember the process my plants grew up day by day; I remember the beautiful words of books and movies I liked. All these made my life more colorful.
But meanwhile, then and now, some people would prefer staying with solitude rather than anything else. Their love and praise for solitude were so strong that nobody can contradict. In his famous book, Walden, Henry David Thoreau says,” I find it wholesome to be alone the greater part of the time. To be in company, even with the best, is soon wearisome and dissipating. I love to be alone. I never found the companion that was so companionable as solitude” (104). For
