Love of Music
A lot of thing that play an important role in my life, but none of them play as big of a role as music. There are several reasons why music plays such a huge role in my everyday life. The main reasons are because music is inspirational, emotional, and memorable. First and foremost, music is inspirational. Music these days tell us never to give up on our dreams. It emphasizes that with a little hard work and dedication you can do anything you set your mind to. Music speaks to every individual differently. Some people could let music have a positive or negative influence on their life but either way it goes, what we listen to today inspire our lives tomorrow. With this in mind, music is also truly emotional. You can actually relate to what the songs are saying by your own personal experiences. The lyrics can make you laugh, cry, and overall make you feel good. Voices singing, people listening, the sound of music can make you feel happy again after feeling down or depressed. Pursuing this further, not only is music emotional but it is definitely memorable. The poetic lyrics, long and beautiful, makes you want to sing them over and over again. Some songs can make you just want to get up and dance. As a matter of fact, they speak to your heart and not just your mind. Thus was born my love for music. Hopefully Jordin Sparks, my favorite artist, could come to my hometown so I can see her in concert and just get lost in the music. As you can see music plays an essential role in my life and the reasons are because music is inspirational, emotional, and

Pieper answers this question by quoting Schopenhauer, who claimed music, "does not speak of things but tells of weal and woe" (42). This makes sense because it relates to "man's good," and our yearning for perfect happiness. When listening to music certain emotions surface, as Plato stated, "Music imitates the impulses of the soul" (Pieper 45). Thus, to truly understand what we perceive when we listen to music, one must understand what is being expressed, and not simply "listen." For many, music can be an "out of body experience," something that truly reveal's man and his meaning in life. Some may argue that music is simply "…a means of personal enchantment, of escapism…" (Pieper 50). How one views and interprets music truly reveals one's character, because, "music lays bare man's inner existential condition," (Pieper 50).…

Music has played a significant role throughout my whole life. All throughout middle school and high school I have been a performer, participating in many different musical organizations including orchestra and choir. These personal experiences have broadened my interests in music. In middle school I was in choice voices, which was a special singing group for people who excelled in singing. When I went to high school I stayed in the same program and even became senior section leader of my choir, conducting different songs at our concert and being in charge of different performances. During my childhood I was part of the choir at my church, and performed during the different holiday masses.…

Music can bring out emotions and forgotten memories. Music serves as a powerful cue to recall emotional memories back into awareness. We all have a ton of emotions that control how we act and what we say. Our emotions are triggered by many things. One of those things is Music. At a funeral for one of my family members a song by Whitney Houston was played. Now it is long after that day, but my mother cannot listen to Whitney Houston, because it triggers her past feelings of loneliness and sadness. Music does not always bring out hurtful memories; it actually aids you in finding what is important to you as an individual. Two people can listen to the same song and can convey two entirely dissimilar statements. Humans need music to openly express their emotions, because without it, the world becomes so bleak and dull.…

Music has always been a part of us ever since the begging of time. It’s been with us threw the happy, great times and also for the not so happy bad times. We can express ourselves with music by telling a story with in the lyrics and even with the beat showing, telling how we are feeling. It can be a cheerful, carefree, joyful beat, to gloomy, mournful, blue beat, but not everyone has the same taste in music. Music it’s self is unbelievably stunning and so breathtaking.…

Dick Clark once said, ¨Music is the soundtrack of your life.¨ Music is one of the most powerful and influential things in my life. Without the melodies and harmonies of music, my life would feel bland and meaningless. I have a very busy schedule and sometimes it is too easy to lose meaning in my everyday tasks, but with music I am able to keep meaning in my life. I use music to get me through the activities of my everyday life. Whether it is cleaning my room, doing homework, or just relaxing, music makes everything better. I think that music can convey feelings and emotions extraordinarily well. When words cannot do the job, music can. Along with that, I think that music accompanies memories very well also. Going back to Dick Clark’s quote, I think I would be able to make a timeline of my life just using song titles, albums, and…

    Music in My Life

    • 281 Words

Throughout my life, music has always been a major influence. It has the power to change my mood when I'm feeling down, but the thing I find most intriguing about music is that it doesn't always end up improving your mood: like all forms of art, it imitates life, which is not always portrayed in a positive light. The musicians that I admire most have the versatility to induce several different emotional responses in the same piece. This quality is present in most of the wide variety of music I listen to, from Russian composer Dmiti Shostakovich, to Chicago jazz band Tortoise, to California pop/rock sextet Mr. Bungle.…
