Love At First Sight Dbq
When people think of love, they often think of the passion and happiness that two people can share. Love is a strong emotion that can lead to much damage, but love itself is like a flame; it is bright and powerful, but it does burn out. However, this little flame called love can be created over a long period of time, or it can be sparked with just a glance between two people. Therefore, love at first sight is real. Love at first sight is not a false idea since many couples have met this way and accusing love at first sight of being false is just flat out rude. For instance, people may have doubts about love at first sight, yet, “nearly everyone knows someone, or is someone that has seen [love at first sight] firsthand” (Source B). Statistics …show more content…
For instance, many believe it is impossible for two people to instantly fall in love just by one glance, but studies have shown that, “instant attraction is more than just what one sees. It’s a combination of many stimuli such as smell and the ingestion of pheromones…” (Source B). There is more that goes into love at first sight, then sight itself; so those who believe love cannot be created with one look are wrong since more than just eyesight goes into the glance that could eventually spark a relationship. Readers can tell that love at first sight is more than just a look when they read Romeo saying that Juliet is, “Like a rich jewel in an Ethiope's ear” and that she “shows a snowy dove trooping with crows/ As yonder lady o’er her fellows shows” (Source D). If Romeo just used his sight, he would just describe how Juliet looks, but he instead described her presence and the kind of vibe she creates just by standing in a room. He obviously has fallen in love with her but not only looking at her, but also by getting a sense of who she is just by watching her. Therefore, people tend to misinterpret what love at first sight really is. Love at first sight is a mixture of both a glance, and a reaching out of one person to try and connect to another. This whole process is a part of love at first sight, proving that love at first sight is a mixture of many scientific

Love can be seen in many different ways for many different people. Though, the internet states it as an intense feeling of deep affection. That is plain, boring, and does not really branch off of what love is. Love is when butterflies erupt, or a face brightens at the mention of someone's name. Love is when two people have a mutual respect for each other and they want to give them everything they can possibly give.…

When it says love at first sight it’s like Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet did not know who each other were their looks is what got each other’s attention. Romeo and Juliet were dating secretly and their parents didn’t know. Romeo was a Montague and Juliet was a Capulet. Basically, since they were enemies Montagues and Capulets could not like or date each other. The thing was they did not know they were enemies. When they found out they did not care and they still kept dating and then they tried to get married. They both died in a tomb together and then they had a funeral. That funeral is what brought Montagues and Capulets together as…

Love is a complicated topic, in my opinion there are two types of love. The first type is when people can tell their friends or their family members that they love them. This type of love is the kind of love where everybody knows their supper close with one another, and will do anything for each another. The second type of love is the love that one person has between another human being, this special someone could be that other human beings soul mate. This type of love is where one person can tell their significant partner anything they want in the world, because they know that they can trust them to be straight up with them.…

We had been walking for days in search of something which we did not know. They (the gods) talked of an eagle that would mark the territory, our new settlement. This took a toll on the men, but just as hope was beginning to diminish I, myself, saw something extraordinary. In the distance was an eagle perched on a cactus in the middle of what looked to be a lake, and in its grip was a snake. This marked the beginning of our grand city.…

People who are in love usually get to know each other before they get married or get into a serious relationship. You want to know who you will be spending the rest of your life with. Romeo and Juliet knew each other two days before they were married. They didn’t even try to get to know each other. When they first met they had to ask around for each other’s name. They didn’t know anything about each other. On the balcony Juliet barely knows his name but she starts talking about her love for him. Some people believe in love at first sight,…

Relationships with the individuals around us are crucial to ones social existence. Personal accounts by people who have been isolated from the outside world serve as a reminder of our dependence on others. What draws us into these "relationships?" Studies of interpersonal attraction have concluded that people are attracted mostly to those that they find physically attractive and who are geographically close. To understand why we are attracted to certain individuals we must first understand an individual's person perception or the process of forming impressions of others. First impressions often help us to determine whether we are attracted to another individual. Our first impressions of an individual have a great impact on our perception of that person, even though we encounter that person for only a brief period of time. When we perceive a person we account for both the positive and negative characteristics of that individual. Although most people seem to be interested in another individual's positive characteristics, the negative information is usually weighed so heavily that it overrules all the positive information about that person.…

Too many times people ask “Do you think physical looks are important in love?” In a way, they are important. Then again, if you really think about it, they shouldn’t be. Love shouldn’t happen at first sight, because that would be contradicting the quote “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. Well, that is exactly what you’re doing. If you see someone that is very pretty or handsome and then decide if you want to be their friend by not even exchanging words with them, you are judging a book by its cover. It’s as simple as that. There is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone because of the way their outward appearance shows, but that should not be the only reason why you love them so very dearly.…

First impressions last a lifetime. A first impression is the initial representation people gather when meeting someone for the first time. It is said that so long as you act with confidence, people will typically find you as a confident person. Research has showed that those people who are attractive have a better chance at a good first impression versus someone who is unattractive. Attractiveness usually runs with parallel thoughts of a person being kind, good hearted and nice. What first comes to mind when someone sees an attractive person is that they must be the whole package so they instantly assume that this person has all great qualities. It is seen through…
