Love and Trust
Trust is big word. It is a word that everyone tell but hard to do.Trust to me is more than just a word or even a value. It’s like a necessity of life. If you don’t have it then its hard to live and be happy. For example if you think about it where would we be in the world if nobody trusted anyone? Everyone would always be fighting and trying to survive.

Trust is the very thing that everybody in this world desires, or at least should desire from one another. Who wants to have a friendship or relationship without trust? Nobody does. Without trust, there is no friendship, and without friendship, there is no love. I believe that trust is an even greater compliment than to be loved! I believe George Macdonald said it best when he stated "To be trusted is a greater compliment than to be loved." When I read this quote for the first time, I thought to myself, "Wow that is so true. How can you be loved if you are not trusted first?" It is a special thing to be trusted by someone.

Trust is needed everywhere you go. In my opinion I think it is most important because home is where the heart is. My heart is my family. At home, you have to have trust. Without trust in your own house, you’re like an outsider in a stranger’s house. I say that because when you’re not trusted in your own house then you’re going to constantly be watched and checked up on. That will make you feel very uncomfortable. Having trust in your home is having trust from your parents. When your parents trust you, it’s one of the best feelings in the world. You have a sense of responsibility and a sense of independence. You don’t have to be watched every time you’re on the computer and you’re not asked what you’re doing when you’re in the bathroom. (Yes I am making this a personal issue). When you have trust in your home, you have trust everywhere you go. You will also be trusted to do things outside of your home like go on retreats and movies with friends. This is why trust is needed at

Trust is one of those things that are nice to have, but really is not needed. The statement “It is impossible to go through life without trust” by Graham Greene, may not be entirely correct. Our group disagrees with the statement. There are many times that trust just is not an option. A Streetcar Named Desire and The Crucible are a very good example of how an individual could be lacking trust.…

As I reminisce about the required readings of this week 's lessons, I am reminded of the phrase "Circle of Trust". The words are simple enough, but the meaning behind it is so profound. According to Palmer, the circle of trust is not just about familiar and comfortable relationships between family, friends and loved ones. The circle of trust is truly about the relationship that a person builds or creates within every space of their lives. Rather that space be your personal life, your cultural interactions or your vocational life. "A circle of trust can form wherever two or three are gathered—as long as those two or three known how to create and protect a space for the soul" (Palmer, 2004). Palmer 's analysis of how important trust is to the…

I started to realize the importance of trust when I was very young. Going up and having my dad make me a promise after promise and then not following through with it has always been hard to deal with. After having so many promises broken I knew I couldn’t trust in my dad’s word. I love him dearly but our relationship as father and daughter is not one I always take seriously. When he tells me he is going to do something my response is “okay.” Its not just because of my dad of why I believe trust is so important.…

"Antinoos, it is impossible for me to turn out of doors the mother who bore me and brought me up." (p.25, Homer, The Odyssey) This quote is a direct example of love and loyalty between a mother and son. Telemachos loves his mother and will stand by her decision, he says he won’t force her to marry; he is loyal to her, which represents the idea of loyalty between family. Love and loyalty are major themes of The Odyssey that are constantly surfacing throughout the book. Trust is a very valuable thing is one’s life. Without trust, it is next to impossible to go through life. Graham Green happens to agree with this as she had once said, “… it is impossible o go through life without trust…” One can interpret this quote as trust being an essential aspect to life and in order to go through it, there must be someone or something a person can put his or her faith in. Two works of literature that reflect this quote are The Fault in Our Stars by John Greene and A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry.…

Reflecting back on all the different situations I have been involved with or experiences I have witnessed, there are many amazing moments I can remember, but there are also equally as many, if not more, challenging circumstances and obstacles as well. A common denominator in almost all of these different reflections of the past is TRUST. This word has a different meaning to everyone and effects people differently in the way it guides or directs them in their everyday situations. It influences how we react to many different everyday life experiences.…

Secondly, trust is an issue that every platonic friendship must deal with. Whether dealing with matters of trust is active or passive, its power is still a prevalent and pertinent quality that is mutually understood. Trust is an unwritten rule between friends and is defined as the "firm belief or confidence in the honesty, integrity, reliability, justice, etc of another person." (Webster 's, pg. 1436) Trust is also described as "faith"(Webster 's, pg. 1436). When using a word such as "faith," that describes a substantial belief in one another, it is very difficult to argue that breaking the trust of the friendship is ever in the best interest of the friend.…

When one takes the leap of faith, and entrusts another person with confidential information, they do it in full belief that they can trust that person. There is a bond formed. A shared burden, a shared joy, or even a shared fear. No matter the content, that secret is an object of importance to the teller, and by entrusting another, they are reaching out. They are opening up, and allowing themselves to become vulnerable to an outsider. We hold with us a part of that person, and somehow, so effortlessly, we can destroy not only their trust in us, but their ability to trust in anyone. Without trust, how can any society hope to function peacefully?…
