Love an Loss
“Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” Is a famous quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson. What this quote means is that the experience of being in love, even if not successful is better than never having been in love at all. The experience is so valuable that having it alone is a good thing, even if you lose at love. Some people or scholars may believe that this quote is not true, but personally I think it is true. There are two main reasons why this quote is true and they are if you have never loved than you do not know what love is, and if you don’t “lose” in love than you can never learn from your experience for later in life.
If you have never loved than how do you know what love is? Exactly you don’t know what love is! Everyone should know what love feels like because love makes you happy and will make memories that will last forever. Imagine a boring life with no happiness and then imagine yourself at a very old age in that life looking back through the ages and you try to think of a time where you felt good or a time when you were with your family and everyone was happy as could be. You can’t… because you haven’t felt love and you don’t know what love is that is why this quote is true. Your life will be better if you have loved and experienced love. Who cares if you have lost a love one because later in life those memories with the loved one is what makes you feel good and that is what counts.
The other reason why this quote is true is if you don’t “lose” in love you can never learn from your experiences with love and loss for later in life. How do you know how to love? How do you know who to love? How do you know how to handle loss of love? You don’t if you have never loved and learned from that experience. Love is an incredibly powerful word. When you're in love, you always want to be together, and when you're not, you're thinking about being together because you need that person and without them your life is incomplete. You know these things because you have experienced love and you know the ways of a relationship. A quote from one of Tina Turner’s famous hit songs says “What’s love got to do, got to do with it.” Love has everything to do it because love brings happiness and happiness makes the world go around. Even know Tina Turner says “Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken” this may be true but you learn from your heart being broken. When your heart is broken that is when you feel the truest love. That moment when you’re laying in your bed crying and eating ice cream and remembering all the memories that is the experience of LOVE. You cannot learn from love if you haven’t ever felt love and the only way to learn from love is to lose. “Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” Is a famous quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson. Not only is this a great quote but this is a very true quote. This quote is true because you will never know what love is if you have never loved and love makes the world go round so learn what love is. Also this quote is true because if you don’t “lose” in love than you can never learn from your experience for later in life and really you can’t feel real love. Queen may call it “a crazy little thing called love” but the band Nelson would say “Cant live without your love and affection”.

And the stronger the love, the more that pain, but love bears all things. Love itself is a pain, you might say, but is the pain of being truly alive," says Joseph Campbell. this to me means that with love comes dangers of pain. Inside each one of us as we love a hypothetical fire burns. This fire so to speak is our passionate needs for this other person. Though this person helps us keep the fire tame, they also can send it into a blazing whirlwind deep inside of us. So basically its like a double edged knife. Sure you can hold it and touch the dull or sharpened side but that doesn't mean you won't get cut.…

Society expects people to fall in love. That is, society expects people to find a life partner, get married, and have children. Those who do not follow the pattern are generally seen as hermits who sit in their houses with multiple forms of pets to keep them company. This burden life throws at human beings growing up, turns into a moral value. People want to find someone that makes them so happy that their heart hurts when they’re not with them. This would be the case if one does actually fall in love. Love can be a wonderful thing. However, sometimes it can be a devastatingly evil form of torture. Even though it is expected to make one feel content and comforted, love can make anyone feel more alone than ever before. Love is presumed to be a step in life. The expectation society applies to it leads to alienation of characters in the summer reading of The Great Gatsby, Their Eyes Were Watching God, and The Grapes of Wrath.…

I also feel that Lucretius brings up a valid point that if you want to seek love you must accept human imperfection, but unlike Lucretius I think that we shouldn’t avoid falling in love. We should not fear love or heartache, we should embrace it, if we don’t experience heartache, how can we grow? We must learn that heartache and pain from love are only lessons to love again and to love even better the next time.…

Love is like a rumor; everyone talks about it yet few truly know the truth. If there is an emotional state that we as humans idealize it is love. However, we want nothing of its dark side and demand that it always hides its flaws. Nonetheless many of us are unprepared for the battles that the heart must be willing to endure in order to take on the emotion of love. Many people fantasize about what it will be like to fall in love and dream about their perfect match. Individuals spend their whole lives so fixated on the love that they might one-day experience that they often forget about the love they are surrounded by every day. The significance level placed on love is extremely high and many people believe that they could not live without it, yet it is also one of the most difficult and complex emotions to sustain.…
