Looking Towards the Future
Looking Towards the Future
In this essay I will identify and describe personal, professional and academic goals as it relates to my major field of study as well as explain how I will apply the S.M.A.R.T. goals approach for each individual goal. Also outlined in this essay is my own personal accountability plan that will not only specify how I intend to accomplish my goals but also how I will be able to overcome obstacles. Lastly, I will explain how past positive experiences, my own individual personality, as well as my current major field of study will be the basis to my overall success in meeting my goals.
My Goals and Applying the S.M.A.R.T. Goals Approach In reflecting on my own personal goals, I realize that my goals are probably very similar to many others; to be financially stable and secure. I think that I am certainly headed in the right direction as I recently paid off all my prior student loans and car note, leaving me completely debt free. But it’s not just about being debt free; it’s about having good credit and financial flexibility to be able to work when and how I want; which leads me to my professional goals. In order to achieve financial stability and flexibility, I must first start my own business or create some type of product that will provide consistent income. My goal, specifically, is to start my own consulting company that focuses on providing businesses and individuals with the tools necessary to effectively use the internet and online applications as a means of conducting business and interacting with customers and clients. I would like to offer online solutions to everyday business problems.
With all this being said, the most important and immediate goal I have in my crosshairs is to complete my online education and acquire a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems. I realize that there is no way that I can achieve my personal and professional goals without the proper education and training. By attending Ashford University online

I want to also give my children a healthy environment so later in life they can accomplish their goals and be successful in their goals and be successful in their careers. It takes perseverance and diligence in order to maintain a successful life. Professionally I would like to have the ability to bring skills to the workplace that would secure my job stability. My driving force for the last three years has been to work with an incredible company that cares about their patient’s health. Making a difference within the company that I work for would be my idea of professional success. Personal success starts with me becoming more focused and organized within my learning environment. I would like to be able to manage time better and more efficiently between taking care of my children, work, education and other aspects of my life. Being able to attend online classes has allowed me to manage some time better such as being a mom on a fulltime basis I am able to watch their growth in the crucial first times in their lives even though I have attended a college campus I would still rather attend online classes it gives me the time to learn on my own. Dr. Malcom Knowles stated that adult learning is “self centered”. Adult learners are self-directed and learn best when directly involved in the education process as opposed to being subjected to the traditional lecture forum. Adults are motivated to learn when the subject matter is relevant to them and can be applied to personal experiences. When treated as an equal, adult learners are more receptive to their educators (Marcy 2001).…

    A look into the future

It all happened so fast. The smell of gasoline intoxicated my lungs as it spread through the air in the dark night sky. My vision was impaired as the blood from my forehead trickled down my face into my eyes. It was almost impossible to move within the confines of that metal death trap. Any movement insured glass and broken pieces of metal would pierce my skin adding more agony to the pain I was already feeling. All of it was a big blur, really. As the smoke started pouring inside of the vehicle it was becoming even harder for me to see, let alone breathe. It was as if everything that could have gone wrong that night indeed happened to me all at once. I was on the edge of panicking. Panic and fear are two very different things. If I had caved into the panic, that would have meant certain death. I was trying not to let the panic overcome my fear. Fear is what keeps many of us alive. Still stunned at what just happened, the only thought I had was, “I need to get out”.…
