Learning to read , write and compose is a privilege. Not all human beings get this privilege of learning these special qualities. This qualities not only help us with other humans but with ourselves in the rest of our lives. As a matter of fact, I don’t like reading at all, but then reading is a part of our life. When I was in
6 grade we had a teacher name Parnita. She was just awesome. She was not only a teacher but also a motivator as well. Her motivational speech always touch my hearts. She used to teach us the english subject. She always gives the idea that if you don't read well then you can't know anything at all. Once in a week she used to take us to the libary room and tell everybody to read different thing other than text books. This way of reading different books inspire me to read a lot. As time went on we had to focus on the textbooks rather than outside books , I spent less time on reading .But I have not quit the habit of reading. Whenever I got the free time I remembered her motivational speech and started to read .
And next source of reading inspiration was my Grandfather. He was not just only a friend to me but also a teacher . He has a vast knowledge of religious books such as "Gita" .He started to teach me the sanskrit (the language) which I have not learned in the school .So I was the only one who knows sanskrit in the school. We (grandfather and me) once in a week used to tell me so boy lets start to read the book. By that time it has become a habit to me to read the book.
Slowly I started to read faster than before. The "Gita " book teaches us the everything about the universe and the people. What is good and bad .As I went on reading the book I know why he teach me to read this book .First of all religious values and the language that is disappearing.
Reading that book

Reading is my life. It’s my escape from the world around me. I love getting lost in a story about monsters and myths, or a Cinderella gone wrong. If I didn’t draw as much as I did, I’d probably be the anti-social bookworm in the back, like in all those cliche teenage love stories. It’s actually quite surprising to see how many people dislike books, there’s nothing wrong with a little reading every once and awhile. But who am I to judge? I wasn’t a very big reader myself until maybe two years ago. Of course, that leads to the first reason why I enjoy reading so much.…

Although there is much I can’t recall from my early days of reading, there are some momentous flashbacks. When I was beginning elementary school my parents were very eager to introduce me to doing a great deal of reading, they wanted me to enjoy reading for a while and they succeeded. We lived within walking distance of the public library which allowed us to frequently visit the library to read and check out books. I always remembered the vast shelves of books that seemed like they never had an end. In addition to reading at the library we checked books out to bring home to read, this allowed me to read as much as I wanted to. Correspondent to the amount of reading I did, the more I enjoyed it and improved at reading.…

Writing has always been my most difficult part of English. Reading, on the other hand, is something I could do all day; however, with writing, I grimace just thinking about it. It was not that I did not have anything to say, because I actually have quite a bit to say. I just could never figure out how to phrase what I had to say in just right way on the page. My mom taught me to read and write at a young age. After that, I would devour any book that I could get my hands on. However, I have had trouble with writing since it became more than just my alphabet and numbers.…

My real troubles began when I was asked to give my introduction as I was a latecomer. My hindi teacher gave me an earful for not attending the previous classes and asked me to be very careful henceforth. The classes had begun quite early and I was way behind. My classmates had learnt the consonants and vowels by heart . I could not recognize a single alphabet, the script was alien to me, it was in devanagari . I was in tears and very miserable as I was punished for not being able to answer anything nor read from the text book. The next few days went by and then one fine morning my hindi teacher condescended to help me in grasping the new language. He sat by me on my bench and taught me the hindi alphabets one by one .I felt encouraged and started taking interest and slowly and gradually I learnt to read and write. We were given words with their English meaning which were to be memorized by us. This memorization turned out to be a building block in my endeavour of acquiring vocabulary and fluency in the language. I went on to score the highest in the class. I participated in debates, wrote essays ,memorized the dohas and their summaries, so on and so…

The habit of reading is the best pastime. It can keep a person busy when he has nothing else to do. The persons who are in the habit of reading, not only make the best use of their spare time but they will keep their minds away from the worries that might chase them if they sit brooding, doing nothing. A good book, for a reader, is better than visiting the best of gardens and scenic places.…
