The author's main purpose for writing the article is to inform the reader the importance of listening: Professional and relationship benefits. The author's informing us that it is crucial to have listening skills and it can benefit our relationship and professional lives. I have found it to be true that for excellent communication skills, listening is a plus. In order to learn and understand other's one must be able to listen and relate.

The author's, tone informs given information and example of serious, objective, straightforward, sincere and instructive, earnest, formal, matter-of-fact. The author's tone also reflects his attitude and feeling toward his subject. For example, an author's tone might be described as critical or admiring, pessimistic or optimistic. The author's said, "listening is surely one of the most important of all interpersonal communication skill."

I agree that listening plays a crucial role in making and having a communication, relationship, and development. Therefore, to have better communication, and professional, and relationship that has real benefits begins with being a good listener.

The author's using the listing pattern. The passage contains related ideas or points of information that are organized into a list. The transition word first and another indicate listing and the sentence relationship addition which is associated with the listing. For example, one study concluded that in this era of technological transformation, employees' interpersonal skills are especially significant; workers' advancement will depend on their ability to speak and write effectively, to display proper etiquette, and to listen
