Lip Syncing Persuasive Speech
Lip-synching Lip-synching has been something that people have done for a long time. They lip-synching when they don’t have good voices. They lip-synching when they are sick and the concert can’t be cancelled. Many people don’t see anything wrong with this because they are still making money. Most of the time the concert goers don’t even know that it is happening. So why the big deal? Should people be allowed to lip-synching their songs? I think that lip-synching during a live concert should not be allowed because people pay a lot of money and take time to go and see them sing in person. I do not think that there is any reason for someone famous to lip synching at a live concert. They’re doing the live concert in the first place

I am writing you today to ask for your support. This year, on Saturday, August 5, I will be riding in my first Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC), from Wellesley to Bourne. The PMC raises money for cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. My employer, Waters Technologies Corporation, is sponsoring a team for the first time, so I decided to join “Team Waters.” I will be riding in honor of my Mom, a breast cancer survivor and in memory of my sister, Jayne, who on May 17, 2017 lost her battle to liver and colon cancer.…

I think you should take second opinion. Tongue tie, professionally known as ankyloglossia, is a congenital condition in which the lingual (tongue) or labial (lip) frenulum is too tight, causing restriction in movement that can cause significant difficulty with breastfeeding and, in some instances, other health concerns like dental, digestive and speech issues. I don’t think so it is related to psychological behavior. Release or snipping of the tight frenulum can improve the baby’s ability to breastfeed. Snipping a tight frenulum in young babies is a simple procedure that takes only second or two. No anaesthetic is…

Even the most famous of sports stars need medical intervention when their hips fail, and Pele the soccer star is an example of this. He has just had corrective surgery for a replacement hip received in 2012. A replacement hip means that after recovery you can once again live a pain-free existence and walking will be a lot easier, but you're not immediately going to be able to leap out of bed after surgery and run laps around the hospital ward. Physiotherapy is going to help you put your best foot forward with your new hip, so what does that mean for you exactly?…

Lastly, let’s talk about Stephanie Braden from Austin HS, let’s start with how she organizes her year. She organizes her year easy for football and contest season, her football season is short and she usually finishes contest either the end of February first weekend in March. She holds tryouts in March to start practicing with her new team as they do a dance in Spring Show to make their debut to the high school. One thing that I don’t agree with her on is the date party that they hold. I don’t really agree with this because a lot can go wrong with this like alcohol and would be much easier to save money and hold a nice banquet. Lastly, one thing that really resonated with me was that this job is a job of sacrifice and dealing with all types…

Imagine you're about to get on the school bus from a long day at school. You're exhausted from all the work you had done that day and you're not paying much attention to the world around you. The bus is across the street waiting with open arms, waiting for you to sit down and rest all the way home. As you take your first step you realize a car is driving down the path way you're walking; you’re most likely thinking it's going to stop, so you keep walking. On your way to the bus you realize that the car is not stoping, so you hurry to the bus and try to escape the danger. You take a look to see how much longer until the car gets there and before you know it a car races passed you just…

Do you know a problematic boy? Do you think that the best for him is to go to a detention center, so he can be reformed and released to society as a good person? There is crime around us, and teenagers sometimes take place in perpetrating them, and as any person who commits a crime, they receive a punishment proportional to their offences and are sent to a detention center as an attempt to reform and lead them to a right path. However, the methods applied aren’t working as they are supposed to, there, teenagers are mistreated and abused, to be released not as a new and straight person, but being just like they were before, with traumas, or being even worse, because of that we should try other methods that really work.…

All humans are subject to express their own personal opinions on certain topics, whether it be relevant to the world or just specifically in their community; however, it is the content of what people share and the words in which they use that makes the difference between meaningful topics and irrelevant ones. In other words, one has to draw the line from purposeful discussions which form deeper knowledge in a person’s mind about the point of controversy and unnecessary videos that do not have a specific purpose. For example, discussing if the environment schools create for growing students affects their creativity in a negative fashion helps open peoples’ perspectives, guiding them to think critically about a school’s teachings; this is oppose…

Oh sixteen. That magical age that we fervently look forward to, imagining the the new found freedoms that are to greet us..The age of going to parties every friday, driving our friends around in a shiny new Toyota Prius, and finally having our parents not breathing down our necks every second. There are so many responsibilities and freedoms that are given when one turns 16, but there is on crucial power that we are not entrusted with. The vote. While many countries around the world have lowered their voting age, Canada remains a country that has not. Teenage suffrage is a controversial issue that has created many a debate throughout the years. Both adults and students remain divided in their opinions on the voting age.But when deeply considering this issue, it is easy to see that lowering the vote can make a positive impact on Canada by…

    Text to Speech

At present most speech synthesis systems use raw text as their input which is understandable from a human point of view but problematic for the machines since the process of converting text to speech is very complex; in this paper we discuss the need for having a specific SSML tag for each “mention” (1st occurrence, 2nd occurrence) of a proper noun in the text or paragraph. We discuss that when a proper noun appears first time in the text, then it is spoken more prominently than its second or third or subsequent occurrence. We highlight the need for incorporating a specific tag in SSML to take care of this mention-case. The SSML format is a compromise between human and machine needs. SSML is often embedded in Voice-XML scripts to drive interactive telephony systems. However, it also may be used alone, such as for creating audio books. The advantage that SSML brings is that the designers of such language generation systems need only understand the basic SSML language and do not need specialist speech synthesis knowledge. Introduction Speech Synthesis Markup Language (SSML) is an XML-based markup language for speech synthesis applications. SSML directs all Text Analysis steps, providing a standard way to control aspects of speech such as pronunciation, acronym expansion, volume, pitch, rate, range, duration, pause, emphasis, etc., across different synthesis-capable platforms. The intended use of SSML is to improve the quality of synthesized content. Different markup elements impact different stages of the synthesis process. The markup may be produced either automatically, for instance via XSLT or CSS3 from an XHTML document, or by human authoring. Markup may be present within a complete SSML document or as part of a fragment embedded in another language, although no interactions with other languages are specified as…

Brilliant Public Speaking was a very informational video. I enjoyed hearing from each and every person in the video. Each person brought something new to the table and gave their view of public speaking. The one thing that stood out of my mind the most is how each and every one of them said to make the speech personal. One person said that facts are true, but stories sell. In other words make the speech something they want to hear. Don’t bore them by constantly repeating the same thing and staying the same tone. This video tied in well with this week’s topic because it shows how effectively to communicate when giving a speech in the workplace.…
