Lili Ann was a clothing company that was started in San Francisco, California in 1934 by Adolph Schuman, and named for his wife Lillian. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, the company was known for its good workmanship and high-quality fabrics. In 1954, the magazine advertisement placed in Vogue pictured Dorian Leigh as a charming lady who in stylish dressing and dances with man. This advertisement makes an implicit claim that young and exciting women for all age should wear clothing of Lili Ann. First and foremost, according to the visual components of the advertisement, lady dressed in a beautiful suit. It seem like she is very elegant, confident and enjoyable and the man is attracted by her. Her head tilted to the man’s face. According to the facial expression of women, she felt very enjoyable because her canthus ups and the big grin on her face. She is leaning in man’s bosom. The man lower his head and fixed his gaze on her, their eyes converge together, their hand were joined as well. Maybe the audiences are the office lady or city women because the dress is a suit which is not only morden but also convenient for daily life. Unless, some women do not want to became more good-looking, charming and elegant, they possibly would not buy this products. The persuasive techniques in this advertising is varied. It use emotional appeal that women need to become attractive and want to be pretty all the tome. The picture shows how charming lady is in Lili Ann clothing. Then it makes the women to imagine what would happen if they wear the same the cloth like the lady in the poster. And also the words on the poster imply the women al lot. Whatever how old you are!     The advertisement has a very good focal point. When first viewing the advertisement, you are immediately drawn to the photo of the man standing on top of the skyscraper.     The advertisement uses many different sizes and colors within the whole image. The top Cover Girl is in the light green color reflecting back to the idea of softness and it is the vantage point for a person’s eyes. It is very bold and automatically draws attention to the top half of the advertisement. Also, the different very black and dark bold text at the bottom of the page seems intriguing for a few reasons. First, the different font types and sizes attempt to make you really see the first three lines very clearly and get an understanding of what the product is. However, the work “new” happens to be in green followed by “natureluxe silk foundation” with “luxe” being bolded, suggesting that this product is truly “luxury touched by nature;” which is in very small print right below that as well.
