2014 CHAPTER 1
The Problem
Introduction
In present, technology is spreading over wide. Computers, laptops, tablet and cellular phones are used to gather information. We are now living in a generation where everything seems to be possible. In this modern world, every work has its own way to accomplish easier and faster using the control of some device. In this project, the control system has been further developed with the primary goal of making the technology more easily replicated.
Lighting controls have the potential to capture significant energy savings in school buildings if properly specified, installed, commissioned and maintained. Proper commissioning is often absent in lighting projects and the lack of commissioning can significantly reduce a project’s energy savings potential. The paper focuses on the importance of good commissioning practice for obtaining satisfactory performance from lighting control systems and discusses the difficulties of commissioning today’s systems. Some practical suggestions for commissioning lighting controls is offered as well as advice to specifies and early adopters to aid them in selecting controls that are most appropriate to their requirements.1
Since the invention of light bulb and as any life evolution light in the new technology is now what we call Lighting and Dimming that is specified with Lighting Control System. Whereas lighting scheme can either be done by yourself or by a lighting experts that designs the area lighting at the point of interest that

! Another problem we encountered was with the ceiling lights. Most classes with the exception of the science labs have about 8 to 9 light fixtures, each with 3 individual bulbs. But the science classes are much bigger and on average, these classes have about 14 light fixtures. The problem with the science classes is that they are split into two sections, the lab stations and the actual classroom, however teachers only have the option to have no lights on at all, or all of the lights on even though only one side of the room is being used. This is an inefficient use of energy, and if we were able to install a separate light switch for the lab stations in the science classrooms then it would be a lot easier to control the unnecessary loss of energy. ! Teachers could also choose to have a floor or desk lamp for when they have planning periods. Instead of having all the lights on in an otherwise vacant room, teachers could use a lamp to work at their desk or grade papers. Some rooms also have access to windows and that is a good source of natural light that should be utilized whenever possible. ! The cost of implementing changes to reduce unnecessary energy consumption is small compared to the cost of paying a power bill for a high…

Jackson Lighting is a fifth grade student at Green Tea Elementary. He became a student in Ms. Carita’s self-contained program at the end of third grade when he moved to the area. Jackson was mainstreamed in fourth grade for morning meeting, science and specials. He had many behavioral difficulties in regards to work completion, physical and verbal aggression and targeting others. Due to these choices, he was not mainstreamed full day. However, due to his above grade level academic abilities, the team decided to mainstream full day on day one of fifth grade. This decision was also made with the hope that if Jackson was mainstreamed with his typical peers, his negative behaviors would be more sporadic.…

Although towns are expected to see costs savings of hundreds and thousands of pounds by turning of lights at night or converting the lights into dimmer switches, some councils admit that the cost savings may be not apparent for another four of five years since there are high costs associated with installing new lights that need dimmer switches as well as new light control systems. The expensive costs that come with the initial design and cost construction of dimmer switches would be paid for by local taxes.…

Residential lighting conventions include some generally accepted don’ts, most of which are related to avoiding a non residential ambience. For example, it is unusual to find an appropriate use of 2‘ x 2’ or 2‘ x 4’ recessed fluorescent luminaires in a residence despite their prevalent and appropriate use in many nonresidential settings. This is coupled with the inappropriateness of acoustic tile ceilings in most residential settings. Codes and standards play a limited role in residential lighting. The most significant code impacts are caused by the National Electric Code.…

New technologies in energy efficiency bring with it better ways to bring artificial light into a commercial building. Not only does energy efficient lighting make sense financially for a business, but it also makes the work environment safer as well. Lighting for the exterior of the building and areas such as parking garages can use LED lights that provide an added layer of security for employees so they can traverse these areas without worry. The interior of a commercial building can also use soft lighting options that are easier on the eyes of the people inside but still provide…

Control engineering has evolved over time. In the past humans were the main method for controlling a system. More recently electricity has been used for control and early electrical control was based on relays. These relays allow power to be switched on and off without a mechanical switch. It is common to use relays to make simple logical control decisions. The development of low cost computer has brought the most recent revolution, the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The advent of the PLC began in the 1970s, and has become the most common choice for manufacturing controls.…

Going into the 1940s and 1950s, stage lighting kept on evolving and improving. Many technical advances included special lenses, reflectors, projectors, and new plastic materials for color filters. In 1948, mechanical dimmer switches were replaced by electronic dimmers capable of being controlled with a remote control. Today, the lighting designer programs and operates a computerized control board that can recreate any instant of a lighting performance. These improvements increase the lighting quality and the creativity that can be used on plays and events.…
