Religion is any persons base, it defines who they are in what moral is. Religion defines a persons thoughts beliefs, and their way of living. One’s religion can change as they develop more questions towards the religions they believe in. Religion is one of the central ideas in
“Life of PI” by Yann Martel. Religion is one of the minds more most powerful thought. It can make them question who they are, what they believe in and in affects their life from many different points of view. Pi, the protagonist in the novel practices three religions which are
Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity. These religions will be the one’s making Pi’s journey a selfchanging experience, as well as helping him when he’s going through tough times, and will definitely change Pi’s way of seeing life.
Religion is important to the worlds central themes because religion is what makes the themes important to start. Some of the themes are the will to survive and the nature of truth. When practicing three different religions, a persons mind will be seen as a religious mental challenge because it will questions its faith on religion. Its not forbidden to change one’s religion nor to believe in one or more. Religion can change a person quickly without having the person even realize. This can happen because it changes how a person thinks and acts towards obstacles in life. Pi has been a person that questions religion, and will follow the religions that he can identify himself with. Pi as a person changes in various ways and with his journey of trying to survive at sea with his companion Richard Tiger, the tiger he spends the 277 days with, he has the opportunity to develop thoughts he never thought he was going to have. Going through this
