Better to live in the country side, or in the city?

It is a well-known fact that the world is becoming increasingly urbanized. In almost every country in the world the trend has been for more and more people to move from small towns to larger cities. Although there are certain aspects of living in small town that I would appreciate such as clean air and less noise, however the urbanizing trend pretty much reflects my own preference for living in a big city rather than in a small town, because in my opinion the place one lives in plays more important role in one’s life in terms of wider range of opportunities. I think the education and career opportunities are the most prominent among them. Living in a city and living in a small town have both advantages and disadvantages. It is believed that someone’s personality is influenced by the place where they live. Living in a city involves having a fast-paced life, while living in a small town usually slows things down and gives people a stronger sense of calm. Talking about where you prefer to live in, a big city or a small town, different people have different point of views. Although it is bit difficult to say that it is better to live in a big city than to live in a small town. While cities and small towns are extremely different, their inhabitants have to go through the same drill every day in order to be content: work, socialize and aim towards forming or maintaining a family.
I have lived in a kind of small town but close enough to the city in my entire life. Living a place like that gave me an opportunity to see both sides, and it is not easy for me to say which is better.
I am suitable, ambitious and like to meet new people and see new cultural things but I also like to be in my pace, relaxed, and take my time to get along with people. I would like to avoid as much stress as I can too. According to my personality and my experience living in a small town near by the city, I think living in a small town near by the city would be the best option for me. I find there are many reasons why I choose to live in a small town.
First, I can form a truly deep friendship in a small town. The type of friendship that wasn’t form based on social status, but based on the character. Friends that I can depend on in times of need. In fact my best friends are all from the same town as me. Besides that, there aren’t many people live in a small town. Mostly people who live in a small town know each other. They are more kind, friendly and care to others. Small towns give me the opportunity of receiving help when I need it. Like there was one time I was driving with a friend of mine and his car broke down in the middle of the road. We were completely screwed but some people saw us from their houses and came over, helped us move the car and to get it towed. They even offered us a ride back to the city. It showed me the niceness of the people in a small town. Some people love to live in a small town for only one reason: it is simple and peaceful. People who live in a small town don not need all the modern machines for entertainment. They prefer talking to their neighbor than sitting in the living room and watching TV. It also reminds me about a small town in Florida that I have visited three month ago. They had a cook out lunch on Sunday in the neighborhood. The interesting thing was when I went to that place, I saw a lot of people sitting there and chatting with their friends. Some parents took their kids there to play with another. You can rarely see that picture in a big city. I always admired the closeness they have with their neighbors. They always say hi to each other, they seem to know everyone in the little town. In a big city (in my country) people tend to live in apartments and they don’t even know who the neighbor is. I find it very sad. You might not meet a lot of new people in a small town too often but when you do, you will know that person for a long term. Meeting people in a big city seems like for a short term relationship and I prefer taking my time to get to know the person and become friends for a long term. The reason I said “near by the big city” is that there are more cultural things in a big city and I think being surrounded by different culture makes people open minded. I always like to learn other cultures and not being able to be as cultural as being in a big city is the one minor reason of being in a small town. Besides that, I love how people are so friendly and outgoing in small towns. The traffic is another good reason to be in a small town. Every day people in a big city go to work and get stuck in traffic jams. It is really stressful if you have to face with all the noise and dirt every single day. That situation never happens in a small town. You can walk around, enjoy songs of birds, and relax without hearing any annoying noise. Even at night it is almost always safe to walk (in my country). People might drive slower than the people in big cities but I think that provides safeness. Not all small towns are too far from the city, for example my town is only 20 minutes away from the city and there are easy public transportation to get there. So some people live in the city because of the better education or jobs but in my opinion, you could still live in a small town and be a part of the big city, it might only be possible in my country though. It is true that there are more options for schools and jobs but I went to the university in a big city from home that is in a small town, it might have been a long train ride but I loved to see the sight and enjoyed the ride. Options are limited if you live in a small town but you can make things happen. The other reason is about the nature. The environment in the small town is great. The air in a small town is just perfect for your health, especially for old people. It is not polluted like in a big city. The air is absolutely fresh because there are not many factories there. It is away from the noise and air pollution. Easy access to the mountains or the beach so I can enjoy the fresh air, clean water, and green scenery. I love to run in the woods, just to enjoy the sight and the fresh air. It gives me the most relaxing time and make me forget about all the stress. Living in a small town could be great for kids also, it is safe to run around the neighborhood, they can enjoy the nature instead of video games and computers. Because of the great environment, they also have all the fresh food like, vegetables, fruits even meat. In my small town there not too many restaurants or stores but they do have great food! Some dishes are only served in the town. A short vacation to a small town is a great idea. If you want to escape from all the noise, or even your work, you should come to a small town. There are lots of fun things to do in a small town. Small towns in my country are wonderful. I always want to go there because I can go camping with my friends, swim in clean rivers, or pick up fresh fruits. That are all of things that I can never do in a big city. Furthermore, a small town is so natural. It is going to be a good experience that you can have. In conclusion, I would choose to live in a small town near by the city that I can still have some cultural time. I think people are nicer, kinder and more friendly in small town. I feel like people communicate with others well in small towns. You don’t get too stressed out from traffics, and enjoy the walk around the neighbors. And if you did, you can just enjoy the nature around you. The environments are way better than a big city, the air is fresher than a big city, more greens, water is clearer, and those make food more tasty.
