Make sure you have all the supplies you need. I suggest 3-ring binders for your core classes and folders with prongs for any elective classes. Make sure to have college ruled paper and dividers if the teacher asks for you to have them. If your teacher likes to lecture, like most of mine, have a spiral notebook for notes. The pages are less likely to rip out than loose-leaf. Keep papers in chronological order, they'll be easier to find later when studying. If your binder starts to get full, take out the old papers and put them in another binder to keep at home. This way you won't have to lug them around, but they will be there when studying for semester tests.…

During my senior year of high school I was responsible for my 4-H club’s booth design, multiple yearbook pages, track practice, helping direct my Senior Musical as I was student director, filling out scholarships, and manage any homework that came along the way. I struggled at times but the best solution I found for being responsible for many things at the same time was making myself a time schedule of what was going on, when I was free, and after my busy school life, planning my evenings when I had time for homework, when was designing time, scholarship time etc. Also whenever I had unexpected free time I made sure I used it to my advantage to free up other time later if I completed one of my many things to do. Otherwise my other go to…

Everyone has fears; fears are a natural part of life. My greatest fear is to fail to reach my goals, lose hope, and finally that everybody might think I am a loser. Sometimes I dream of success. Yet failing in life can’t be replaced with dreams. So if I put a lot of effort and work into something and I fail, I’d feel very bad about myself and my lack of ability. This is one of my greatest fears. Being a failure would cause me to lose hope. First of all, I would lose my self-confidence and self-respect. Without self-confidence, I would not likely try to achieve my goals again. Therefore, failing would make me lose the most important thing to all of us, "hope" as hope is what allows a person to reach his/her goals and overcome their fears.…

Daniel M. Wegner in 2002 publishes a book titled The Illusion of Conscious Will, in which he exhibits a large amount of evidence that shows we do not know how we work. They ultimately indicate that we have no freedom of will. All evidence consists of experimental research and studies in which human beings experience the illusion of control, feeling that they, with their own free and conscious will, shape their events and their own behavior, while it is an illusion. The same actions, behaviors, and behavior determine something else - just the unconscious mental processes. Therefore, the aim of the paper is to demonstrate the ways in which this experience emerges through several examples and show that contemporary neuroscientism shows that free…

In order to delve into my academic self-concept it is important to first grasp the meaning of self-concept. The class text book defines self-concept as one’s identity in their own mind. It is what a person thinks and feels about themselves and their thoughts. I have grown a lot academically throughout my collegiate career. I have experimented with different learning styles and test preparations to discover my best fit. In the beginning, I never thought that academics was to be taken too seriously. I knew my assignments had to be completed, but I strived to pass, not to excel and succeed. I did the minimum and nothing more. This worked for the first few months, but I quickly learned that doing the minimum was not going to get me anywhere and I needed to change something fast.…
