I. Question One: Where are you going? (13:36; 14:1–4). “Simon Peter asked him, ‘Lord, where are you going?’ Jesus replied, ‘Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later. Jesus is using what is known as the “Socratic method” of teaching, using question and answer. It was not for the teacher to quiz the pupil but for the pupil to quiz the students. It emphasizes learning readiness because it focuses on the need of the student. Jesus did ask questions, He asked 107 questions in the gospels. 2.
