Lgbtq Community
The two groups I choose are the LGBTQ members and the single mother of four children living at the poverty level in the USA. Beginning with the LGBTQ members, I would like to find out about their families and life growing up. Were they supported when coming out? Did they come out when they were a child or were most of them adults? Where did they work and how was the effecting them? Any other information about how their life is going thus far. I would also find out how they all connected. What is their history as a group. Do they living in the same neighborhood (becoming very popular in bigger cities)? Do they know each other at all? What are some of the norms of LGBTQ communities? How do they feel about a straight person entering into their space? Do they seem to have a common belief system in their community or do they all have different backgrounds and beliefs,

Once building a relationship I would try to find out what happened to the father. This may seem nosy, but it could effect how I minister to her. There is a great difference between a widow and a women with baby daddies. I would also want to know about her beliefs, do her and her kids have a church that they feel welcomed and supported by? If not, I would suggest churches with big children ministries so that her kids had somewhere to go and she could attend church. She may use this as a babysitting service, this is not ideal but it is at least getting her and her kids into the church. If she does this there is a chance that I could see her every Sunday and invite her to come to our church for her own good. I would also try to see where I could bless this family. Giving money is the easy answer, but this may create distance instead of a relationship. If there was ways I could bless her in other ways I would want to find
