BUSINESS DESCRIPTION
Lenovo develops, manufactures and markets technology products and services. It is one of the leading providers of PCs.The group provides notebooks, desktops, workstations, servers, computer accessories and upgrades, mobile phones, computer software and services. It serves both enterprise and consumer markets. Lenovo has operations across Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.
Lenovo has organized its business operations under three geographic segments: China, mature markets and emerging markets (excluding China).
The group's product segments include notebook computer, desktop computer, mobile internet and digital home (MIDH), other personal technology products and services and other goods and services.
The notebook computer product segment mainly offers laptops and notebooks to enterprise and consumer markets. The group offers three lines of laptops and notebooks, which include ThinkPad,
IdeaPad, and Essential.ThinkPad notebooks are designed for businesses, schools and power users.
IdeaPad notebooks are mainly designed for home, home office, and school use.The group's Essential series notebooks targets daily computing needs.
The desktop computers products segment mainly offers desktops, all-in-ones PCs, and workstations.
Lenovo offers three lines of PCs including IdeaCentre, ThinkCentre and Essential. It also offers workstations under the ThinkStation brand. The group also provides servers under the ThinkServer brand. The MIDH group is responsible for creating mobile internet-focused devices, including smartphones, feature phones, and tablet products, as well as new category devices like Smart TV. The segment is also engaged in developing cloud services and applications.
The company also offers other related product such as accessories and upgrades, batteries and power, cables and connectors, carrying cases, docks and port replicators, keyboards and mice, carrying cases, storage, software and monitors, and tablet accessories.
