Should marijuana be legal or not The matter of weather marijuana should be legal or not has been a question that has been asked for many years. However; no one clearly has the answer only opinions. Marijuana has many different identifications such as, weed, pot grass, reefer, ganja, Mary Jane, blunt, joint, and or roach. Marijuana has an ingredient known as THC. This affects the nerve cells in the part of the brain where memories are formed (ncadi.samhsa.gov 2003) Marijuana makes a person lose control and it seriously affects your sense of time and your coordination. (ncadi.samhsa.gov 2003) Smoking marijuana affects daily things like driving or taking care of your responsibilities, like your children. You always need to stay sharp and …show more content…
A person has no idea if it laced with more harmful drugs like, PCP, crack cocaine or even embalming fluid. This can increase the cause of death. ( samhasa, 2004) Marijuana can be additive. More than 220,000 people have entered rehab just to kick the habit. (ncadi.samhsa.gov 2003) If we push to make marijuana legal, then marijuana would be much easier for people to get a hold of. The long term effects of marijuana out weight the possible cure for the chronic pain. In women it can cause fertility implications, meaning women if they are heavy users they may have a harder time having children. (kidshealth.org/teen/drug_alcohol/drugs/marijuana.html 2006) Children of heavy marijuana users have a potential of having developmental and behavorial problems. (kidshealth.org/teen/drug_alcohol/drugs/marijuana.html 2006) Marijuana also has, over time, been proven to affect a person’s blood pressure by lowering it. This can cause dizziness and make the user to pass out. (kidshealth.org/teen/drug_alcohol/drugs/marijuana.html 2006) The biggest problem of all is marijuana will cause emotional problems.     There are a numerous number of drugs in the United States. There is a drug like marijuana that you could smoke, get high from, and still pass a urinary test with it in your system. This drug can be called many things: legal spice, spice, legal, potpourri, and anything else someone might come up with. The two most common drugs used in the US have been legal spice and marijuana. The scientific term for legal spice is Synthetic Cannabis it is an herbal and chemical item that when smoked, mimics the effects of marijuana. It is best known as legal spice or K2. He created this chemical compound and tried to find cannabinoid receptors in the brain.
