Lean Cuisine is a brand of low-fat and low calorie frozen entrées and dinners that are currently being sold in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Originally created in 1981 as a healthier alternative to the typical frozen meals, the company has greatly expanded over the years. As a product of Nestlé, Lean Cuisine currently includes a variety of traditional dinners, ethnic dishes, pizzas, whole-grain options, and paninis. Within the United States, the dinners need to meet the FDA, food and drug administrations, criteria of having less than 10g of fat, 4.5 g or less of saturated fat, and less than 95 mg of cholesterol. There are differences between the tastes and preferences of the Turkish consumer, changes in legal and political aspects with importing products to the country, and they maintain a different business environment. With the success of Lean Cuisine in the US, Canada and Australia combined with the recent expansion and success of Turkey, now is the time to enter the Turkish marketplace.
When compared to the difference of the United States, the cultural aspect of Turkey is enormous. This is a reasonable challenge when trying to transform our product, Lean Cuisine, to the norms of Turkish cuisine and dining. Although, it’s difficult to make a product according to the major difference in the Turkish culture, we have accepted that challenge with our personal ideas. Thankfully, the idea of changing a food product doesn’t seem so hard after we have researched all kinds of food that are preferred and popular in this new market. The fact that Lean Cuisine is a frozen food that’s usually sold in supermarkets across America is the biggest challenge. In Turkey, frozen ready foods aren’t as popular nor are they sold as much as they are in our home market. Usually, breakfast, lunch and dinner is made and prepared at home mostly

The issue of whether or not to admit Turkey to the European Union has been a pressing issue for quite some time, even before the European Union existed in its current form. Ever since applying for admittance into the EEC in 1959, Turkey has been fighting to accede into Europe. The country has been an associated member of the European Community since 1964, following the signing of the Ankara Agreement in 1963. They have been trying to become full members since and officially applied for admittance on April 14, 1987. Because the EC was in the midst of forming a politically and economically tight European Union, the EU did not consider Turkey’s application until 1993. They were not a candidate country until 1999. The EU had outlined 35 chapters for the country to comply with before their admittance is decided on a vote. Though Turkey still has room to improve on several mandates as given by the EU, Turkish economic potential cannot be ignored.…

Turkey is a nation state which has been characterized as successor state of the Ottoman Empire since 1923. In many aspects, there had been many structural differences between two states. However, it is not mean that Turkish Republic ignores its historical, social, political, and cultural belongings. There was even no way to disannul their strong relations, based on the same fundamentals. Their governmental structures were based on same fundamentals that are state-centric tradition and center-periphery relations. Thus, history showed audiences that politics has being shaped according to those features since 1920’s in Turkey. Although, Constitution of 1924 defines that “Hâkimiyet bilâ-kayd ü şart milletindir”, between 1923 and 1950 Turkey was ruled by single party, Republican People’s Party. Especially by the second half of the 1940’s, Turkish political history met with a new opponent party which was not the first one; however, it was the first elected party by the Turkish citizens. This speciality inspired potential supporters and managers of Democrat Party. There were also two opponent parties till that time, yet they were considered as made-to-order parties. Nonetheless, for example, 12 days after the establishment of Free Party in 1930, 130.000 people attended to this party, this exemplified the potential opponents of the Hegemonic Power. They even were popular as much as Democrat Party, but they had been not able to survive due to non-acquiescence of superior authority, President Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.…
