This paper will talk about leadership skills. It will define the term and concept of leadership skills. It will speak on 3 skills that are necessary for an individual to be an effective leader. It will give a brief discussion on how I will use these skills in my future. Leadership can be defined in many different ways. Many feel that leaders are made. Good leaders depend on the knowledge and skills that they possess. Good leaders develop through a never-ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience (Jago, 1982). Leadership is the process that a person uses to help get an organization to a common goal. There are many ways to measure a person’s leadership skills. One real way to

measure leadership is to evaluate the positive change it creates. A true leader help people

make these positive changes. Leadership is not just about policies and procedures that are

followed. There are many skills that leaders need to have in order to be an effective leader. Below are three of the necessary skills needed:
Decision-making
Decision-making is the action of choosing between two or more courses of action. An effective leader needs to know how to make a sound decision. When making leadership decisions, it is not always about making the right decision, but the best decision. When a leader has to make a decision there are some things that need to be kept into consideration. There are seven stages to decision making. These are: 1. Listen to all possible solutions/options. 2. Setting a time scale 3. Information gathering 4. Weighing up the risk involved 5. Deciding on ethics, morals and values 6. Weighing pros and cons of each action 7. Making the decision
All these should be done when making a decision.
Interpersonal skills Interpersonal skills are the life skills that we use every day to
