My Autobiography

My name is Ivelisse Wood and I am the assistant teacher. I’m from Puerto Rico and I moved to Florida twenty four years ago. I have two children, Sean twelve years old and Sarah four years old. I studied accounting in the Caribbean University. I have worked for HeadStart and I am taking CDA classes in CDAClass.org. I’m very proud to be working at Dream Lake Elementary. Innocence is the most fragile, rare component that children posses. In order for children to keep storing that rare component, they must be educated. I strongly believe this through my experience in life that education has had for me, and the future effects that it will have for me. Though, I, like everyone else, had to make goals for myself that I could help to educate young children. By mastering my goals one at a time, I have been able to stay optimistic and focused. Students that have difficulty in absorbing or understanding information can be helped by meeting with their level of comprehension. That way all students of different levels can have the opportunity to be “equally”educated without having a child left behind. I have been through some activities myself. As a student who was special education classes, I found it difficult to process all the information. The constant stress and struggle in mathematics, reading, and all other subjects made me feel as if I wouldn’t be able to function as a normal person. There was always a choice in the struggle and that was to not let the problem absorb me or solve it. I studied persistently and effectively through my subjects. When I get my CDA certification I will start to work in VPK teacher position at Dream Lake Elementary.
