Lauren And Mariah Research Paper
On any given day when I am out with my 17 year old twin daughters, we can get approached by complete strangers that ask, “Are they twins?” This question is usually followed up by a second common question, “Are they identical?” Many strangers are shocked when I respond that my daughters are not identical twins. Although my daughters, Lauren and Mariah, share many similarities such as height, weight, skin complexion, and hair length, they are vastly different individuals. These differences can be seen in their style of dress, personalities and personal hobbies.
Like many 17 year old girls, fashion plays an important part in their lives. Although both of my daughters take great pride in their dress and appearance, they have acutely different styles. Mariah has a trendsetting type of style. She is more of a risk taker when it comes to fashion. She prefers

Mariah tends to be a little more social than Lauren. She is quicker to respond and engage in conversation when approached by strangers. Additionally, Mariah is probably quicker to join a club, while Lauren is quicker to lead a club. Ironically, Lauren has a quieter personality, but she tends to thrive in leadership roles. Lauren can appear a little more guarded in her opinions, while Mariah is very direct and doesn’t mind sharing her opinions with the world. Although they have many of the same acquaintances, they still interact with their own circle of friends in and out of school.
Lastly, my twin daughter’s differences can be seen in their hobbies and extracurricular activities. Lauren enjoys tennis and has played on the school’s tennis team for the past two years. In addition, she enjoys producing music and DJ’s events in her spare time. Lauren also enjoys playing the saxophone. On the other hand, Mariah has played on her high school’s soccer team since the ninth grade. She can play the clarinet and is a self-taught guitar

According to the official Lilith fair website, the festival is named after the legendary Lilith, who refused to obey Adam and instead bolted from the Garden of Eden to search the Earth for adventure. In 1996, concert promoters and radio stations refused to let two female musicians Sarah McLachlan-a Canadian musician and Paula Cole- an American singer-songwriter touring together because the corporate music community don’t think multiple female musicians have enough talents to convince people buying substantial concert tickets. That really made Sarah McLachlan became frustrated, so she decided to book her own tour with Paula Cole in her home town on September 14, 1996. The first Lilith Fair was born a year later with the cooperation of the Nettwerk Music Group 's Dan Fraser and Terry McBride, and New York talent agent Marty Diamond. Lilith fair earned an unexpected gross income $16 million in the first year and ranked 16th among the year 's Top 100 Tours. It took place during the summers of 1997 to 1999, and was revived in the summer of 2010. When it comes to raising a child, families fall into the category of either emphasizing concerted cultivation or accomplishment of natural growth. In Annette Lareau’s first chapter of, “Unequal Childhoods: Class, Race, and Family Life,” she talks a bit about the different families she researched and the various methods the parents are categorizing in about raising their child. Through her observations of these families, she noticed middle-class families practice a particular parenting style known as concerted cultivation, where the parents believe they must promote the growth and development of their child’s abilities and skills. These types of parents often push their kids to join a variety of activities and are very active in their child’s…

As twins, we have many similarities in our appearances. My sister and I both normal size, and have the same height. Furthermore, we both have brown hair, brown eyes, and same face structure. Our round faces are almost identical. We also wear the same sizes in clothes because of our same figure. Our tiny hands and chubby feet look exactly alike. Moreover, our styles of fashion are also similar, including baggy t-shirts, shorts, and flip flops. This similar appearance was a problem growing up, because we would steal each others’ clothes. But we use our same style in fashion to our advantage; we both always have each other to go shopping with. When the two of us are talking our voices come out sounding the same. People are sometimes confused on what twin is talking. If the both of us had our backs turned to you there would be no way in telling which one was who.
