Lady Macbeth's Decline
Women were considered to be delicate and sweet during Macbeth’s time period, however Lady Macbeth was the exact opposite. Macbeth seemed to be a brave and decent man, however he was also not what he seemed to be. “Fair is foul, and foul is fair.” (line 12).
Lady Macbeth is anything but a fragile women. In lines 30-40 Lady Macbeth says the unsex me soliloquy where she claims that she wants to be more like a man and less like a women by portraying deadly cruelty. When Macbeth tells his wife that the King is coming to their home Lady Macbeth starts planning to kill the King so that her husband can take his place.Lady Macbeth portrayed the more superior or dominant role over Macbeth in the beginning, but that all seems to shift throughout. …show more content…
After Macbeth takes the throne, he starts to gain more power and starts to come up with his own evil schemes without the help of Lady Macbeth.
