Ladder Ball Desciption
Ladder Ball Stand Description Ladder Ball a backyard game that has since then become a very popular game for tailgaters, backyard parties and pretty much anywhere you want a good game of Ladder Ball to happen. The part that I am discussing though is the Ladder Ball Ladder Stand. The stand is what decides whether you win or lose. It looks like a ladder (hence Ladder Ball) but only has three rungs in the middle. These three rungs have a different point value the top rung being worth one point, the middle worth two, and the bottom worth three. These points can be switched depending on the players’ rules, but the middle one is always worth two. Now for the physical looks. There are three rungs each 12 inches in length The middle rung is also usually a different color from the other two usually the middle being red and the other two being white. Those three rungs are then suspended by two vertical rungs on each side that the three rungs go inside. Those two vertical rungs attach to the lower part which is a rectangle that goes around the entire ladder ball stand and extends out to added stability. The rectangle, which is 24 inches from one end to the other, is also filled with sand; it looks exactly the other rungs just put together in a rectangular. It is a very simple setup that can be put together in mere minutes. Also there is a set distance the stand must be away from each other, but that also depends on the player and their set of rules (our rules usually are they must be 10-20 feet away from each other.) It usually weighs about 5 pounds so it’s not that heavy, it also really depends on how much sand you fill it with or what you use for the rungs. As you can see on the picture you can see the dimensions displayed accurately so you may make your own Ladder Ball stands rather than buying one all you need is some PVC piping, sand for the rectangular support and the picture to build your own and by doing that you also created a game you can play for hours and

    Pop-Up In A Softball

What would happen if we threw seventy pop-ups to different players on the softball team? That’s exactly what we wanted to find out. Softball is a fun sport, and being that everything is determined on the skill level of the team, we thought this would be as challenging as it is fun! First, let’s explain what a pop-up is. A pop-up is a fly ball; the pitcher throws the ball aiming considerably high in the air and the player is supposed to catch it. We wanted to know how many times our pitcher could throw the ball before ‘missing’ her target. Consider a catch to be a success and a dropped ball to be a failure. Assuming all the players on the team are equally skilled, we can determine a dropped ball to be the result of a ‘bad’ pitch. This,…

    The Game of Wiffleball

    • 347 Words
    • 2 Pages

The WIFFLE ball was designed to take the place of baseball, stickball and softball for boys and girls in back yards and city streets. It is made of a tough rubbery plastic – is light in weight and cannot be thrown or hit any great distance. The WIFFLE ball is also an excellent indoor ball. The WIFFLE ball is thrown like a baseball and will curve very easily. The minimum number of players required to play a game with the WIFFLEball is two – the pitcher and batter – one player per side. The maximum number of players that can complete are ten – five players to a side. If a full team is playing, each side will consist of a catcher, pitcher, double area fielder, triple area fielder and home run area fielder. Fielders cannot move from one area to another when a full team is playing. When more than two players are playing, captains for each side are picked and they choose their respective teams alternately. As in baseball, the game is played with one team at bat and one team in the field. The batting order of the team at bat shall be Pitcher, Catcher, Double Area player, Triple Area player and finally Home Run area player. The rules of play are similar to baseball, however there is no base running. Three outs to retire a side, per inning, nine innings per game. In case of a tie, additional innings are played. For a complete inning, both sides must bat. An out for the batter can be made in three ways: 1.The batter can strike out only if he/she swings at a pitched ball and does not foul tip the third strike. Foul tips count as a strike for the first two strikes only. A foul tip caught in back of the batters box does not count as an out. 2. Fly balls caught in fair or foul territory. 3. Ground balls caught while the ball is in motion, in fair territory. Bunting is not allowed and the batter cannot obtain a base on…

The Red Balloon’s (Lamorisse, 1956) opening shot has a mise-en-scene that focuses on the start to the young boy’s morning as he approaches the early sunrise of the streets of Paris with his school bag in hand. Along his way he stops to enjoy the simple pleasure of petting the cat sitting on the sidewalk before he descends down the stairs to continue on his way. The opening shot presents a shallow focus as the camera’s main view is that of the boy, cat, and the top of the stairs. The background of the shot is very dark with shadows, while the foreground is extremely distant with only a faint view of the streets of Paris and the morning sky. The editing of The Red Balloon’s opening shot to the second shot has a jump cut transition as the opening…
