Lack Of Empathy Character Analysis
Lack of empathy leads to bad relationships. If people have empathy for each other, they would all get along much better. In the book there will wolves people did not have much empathy for each other. One example is when a thief's hand was about to be cut off and Ursula said, ''He deserves to have his hand cut off''. Another example is when Elisabeth told Ursula that Lemmet beats her and Verity. Lemmet probably does not have any empathy for them if he beats them. The last example is when Elisabeth came rushing into Ursula's tent and asked Ursula to help Verity when she was hurt badly, but Lemmet did not want Ursula to help verity. All those situations don't show any empathy.

When Elisabeth came running into Ursula's tent and she was scared because Verity had many bruises, and Ursula starts to cure Verity but then Lemmet approached and he didn't want Ursula to heal her. If Lemmet does not care about Verity's health, then he probably has a bad relationship with her. Therefore, if Lemmet had empathy for Verity he would have wanted Ursula to help Varity. Because of this Lemmet has a bad relationship with Verity.
When Lemmet beats Elisabeth, he clearly doesn't feel empathic. That's why he has a bad relationship with Elisabeth and Verity. If Lemmet had empathy for Elisabeth and Verity, he would stop beating them. However, since he still beats them, he has a bad relationship with them and he does not feel empathic. If he had stopped, beating them his relationship with them would improve drastically.
Lack of empathy doesn't allow people to connect. If people were more empathic or at least tried to understand the other person's situation, they would all have love and care for each other. Overall, Lack of empathy destroys relationships and that’s why Lemmet doesn't have much empathy for Verity, usually this is caused when people have ever experienced it and don't have empathy, but when Lemmet beats Elisabeth, he just doesn't have any care for

Monsters do not express emotions and feelings about others with them. However, my client does. He loved his wife dearly before she betrayed him. "This baron was wedded to a very worthy dame, right fair to see, and sweet of semblance. All his love was set on her, and all her love was given again to him." Also, the baron was a loyal man who loved his lord greatly. All he wanted to do was serve him. "None had reason to do him wrong, forever was he about his master, and for his part did evil to none. Every day were these two companions together, and all perceived that the King loved him as his friend." The King allowed the baron to follow him, and the king loved him as a friend. • Empathy as a means to determine whether a life has value or not: this is by far the biggest theme of the novel; it keeps coming back in every aspect of the story. Our main character, Rick Deckard, defines the human nature and the meaning of life according to this empathic ability. He hates his electric sheep because it doesn’t have any empathic feelings towards him (or anybody else for that matter), despite the fact that it behaves exactly like an ordinary sheep. Using the same logic he figgures that it’s ok killing androids (which of course is his job and gives meaning to his life) because they (these androids) also do not express any empathy. But throughout the story Deckard comes to learn that the line between human and android, between empathic and not…

Jane Smiley offers the account of Rose and Ginny being molested and beaten (the ultimate betrayal) as good cause for why they hate Larry. Regan and Goneril have nothing but the wickedness of their hearts to account for the way they mistreat Lear. The vast difference between these plots is significant because in Lear, the audience sides with King Lear, Cordelia, Gloucester, Kent, etc., and in Acres, the audience sides with Ginny and Rose, despising the actions of Larry as he is the wicked one who deserves what he has coming. King Lear by contrast has done nothing to deserve the mistreatment he receives at the hands of Goneril and Regan, other than standing in the way of their own selfishness and greed. Ginny and Rose are similarly distinguished from Goneril and Regan. They are not greedy; they simply want their due for the life-long care they have given to Larry after the death of their mother and recompense for the way he mistreated them as children. When it comes to Caroline, she is simply suffering from a lack of knowledge. Her devotion to Larry is not unlike the virtuousness Cordelia has for Lear. However, Caroline has spent much of her time away from the family, living in Des Moines as a lawyer. The fact that she does not know the truth about everything…

"The Metamorphosis" similarly questions the extent of empathy humans have when Gregor Samsa's family is forced to take care of him as a depraved cockroach but they fail to recognise Gregor as still having any humane feelings. Therefore, all these texts challenge the assumption that humans always hold the notion of empathy in high regard, as humans also appear to be the only creatures also capable of being ‘monstrous’ in terms of showing ‘inhumane’ behaviour. Thus, this questions the idea if animals and machines could ever reach a similar moral position, if empathy is the defining attribute of what it means to be human, and how the idea of ‘empathy’ and the ‘monstrous’ could coincide.…

By continuously involving her mother in her relationship with Paul, Maria is creating a triangle between the three individuals. Rather than addressing the issues between Paul and herself, Maria is seeking out her mother as third party to the issues.…

First, in “The Leaving”, Elizabeth most desirable characteristic is being warm hearted. For example she is looking out for her daughter by making sure she does not freeze on their ten kilometer walk to the train station; because she forgot her wool handkerchief. “”Ferget yer hat,” said Ma. “Here” she took the warm handkerchief from her head and gave it to me. I took it.”” (Wilson108) In this part of the story, she sees past the cold weather and how much she will freeze, she still offers to give Sylvie her hat, because she does not want her to suffer. Her warm hearted personality becomes demonstrated later on in the story as well when Sylvie questions herself “”Why had we left? How long would we be gone? How would pa and my brothers cook their dinner? How would they make their beds? Who would they complain to after a hard day? Who would fetch eggs, the mail, the water, the wood, the groceries? Who would wash their overalls, mend their socks, put bandages on their cuts?” Here is shows everything she does for her husband and her four boys when they are completely capable of doing it themselves considering their age, they are practically adults. The outstanding amount of effort Elizabeth makes to please her family clearly shows that she is compassionate.…

The ability to be empathetic toward others and forgive is without a doubt essential to relationships between people. Loren Toussaint and Jon R. Webb 's study "Gender Differences in the Relationship Between Empathy and Forgiveness" gives some insight into how gender may influence the frequency in the use of empathy and forgiveness. From the data collected from the study their also seemed to be a difference in the way empathy is linked to forgiveness in men and women. It is foolish to believe that the differences in men and women 's actions will one day be completely understood, but I think that this type of research may help people avoid misunderstanding of the opposite sex 's actions by explaining that there is a difference based on gender.…
