Like what the theory in Linear Expansion states that generally, all materials expand when the temperature rises and shrinks as the temperature decreases. The increase or decrease can occur to the length, area, and volume but since this experiment focuses on the one dimensional change, only the length dimension of the solid tubes is observed. Using the steam generated, we increased the temperature of the tubes until it reached a point where its temperature is stable. As you can see in the table 301 both of the tubes showed an increase in length after increasing its temperature. This is the picture of the steam generator giving of heat to the copper tube. We used a rubber tubing to connect the steam it generates toboth aluminum and copper tubes.

    First we chose an unknown metal, in which our unknown was unknown metal 2, the metal was gray and irregular shaped. We setup the calorimeter and got a mass of it just being empty then we got a mass with 30mls of water in it. We found the mass of the water by subtracting the mass of the empty calorimeter which was 49.987g and the mass of the calorimeter with water which was 87.332g and got the mass of just the water 37.345g. The temperature of the water before the metal was placed was 20 degrees Celsius, when we put the hot metal into the water and stirred it with the stirring rod it was 29 degrees Celsius, the change of the temperature after the metal was placed was 9 degrees. We ran this experiment twice to compare the results. In the second experiment we found that the mass of the calorimeter and water with 50mls was 100.033g and the empty calorimeter was 50.857g. We subtracted them two and we got the mass of water was 49.176g. The temperature of the water before the metal was placed in was 21 degrees Celsius and then when the metal was heated up for 10 minutes the temperature went up to 28 degrees Celsius. The change in temperature in the second trial was 7 degrees Celsius.…

    INTRODUCTION There are many reasons for knowing the identity of microorganisms. The reasons range from the knowing the causative agent of a disease to knowing the correct microorganism in order to make antibiotics. This study was done by applying the following methods; OF Glucose, Indole Production, and Malonate Utilization test for the identification of an unknown bacterium. The methods will assist in determining the unknown bacterium found in a 55 year old male that was passing blood and mucous in his stool. While utilizing the methods stated above, the bacterium found was a facultative anaerobe due to the Gram Negative Rods, fermentation, and the production of indole. The specific Gram Negative Enteric Bacilli was Shigella dysenteriae. There are many reasons for knowing how to control bacterial growth as well as such as antimicrobial drugs, which assist the body’s defenses against pathogens. Microorganisms are capable of causing infection or spoilage. Controlling bacterial growth is important in poultry farm businesses that use equipment to decontaminate processing plant fluids before disposal. During quality control and safety evaluations, bacteria growth that needs to be controlled can be found. While controlling bacterial growth, clusters of Gram Positive Cocci were found. It was found some ways to control bacterial growth were disinfection, sterilization, antisepsis, sanitization, moist and dry heat, filtration, and radiation; just to name a few.
