ENSAYO: LA QUINTA DISCIPLINA INTRODUCCIÓN. El presente ensayo analiza el libro “La quinta disciplina”, del autor Peter Senge; lo cual complementaremos con lectura basada en investigación documental, a efecto de ampliar nuestra perspectiva sobre el tema y así, poder emitir nuestras opiniones con mayor sustento académico. DESARROLLO. A efecto de generar aprendizajes, nuestros sistemas educativos han fragmentado el mundo real en sus diferentes partes, las cuales son analizadas de manera aislada por métodos inductivos, pretendiendo que desea manera entendamos lo que ocurre en nuestro mundo; sin embargo llega a tal grado dicha fragmentación del conocimiento, que al pretender reconstruir la realidad misma, no es posible dimensionarla de nuevo como una realidad integral y concreta, sino como una serie de fragmentos de rompecabezas, unidos de alguna manera, para intentar dar respuesta a la realidad concreta; entre más tiempo transcurre expuesto a estos abordajes, más dificultades se tienen para ver sistemáticamente la realidad concreta. Las organizaciones inteligentes requieren buscar y desarrollar elementos interactuantes, que generen sinergia en el aprendizaje, desarrollo, mejor desempeño y éxito traducido en competitividad sustentable. Para ello requieren contar con las siguientes disciplinas que generen valor agregado para la organización, en su interconexión, interdependencia y sinergia, siendo estas: a) Dominio personal, que genera interacción positiva

    Using the Piagetian perspective, constructivism is applied (Ensar, 2014). Educational constructivism begins with the work of Giambattista Vico (Ensar, 2014). Ensar defines constructivism in four principles (2014). These principles are “prior knowledge,” accommodation and assimilation, learning has an organic invention, and “meaningful learning occurs through reflection and resolution of cognitive conflict…” (Ensar, 2014, p. 35). Vico’s belief in De Antiquissima Italorum Sapientia study, stated that “knowledge is something that is constructed by the learner” (Ensar, 2014, p. 34).     One part of Paulo Freire’s rhetorical success in his writing’s on education comes from his vast experience in the field of education. He worked, first, in underprivileged areas in Brazil, where he formulated methods for teaching illiterate adults to read and write; therefore, using his methods, he knows how extract results and how to educate those that feel they can survive without it (Freire 316). Also, he taught them to think critically so that then they have the tools to take power over their own lives (Freire 316). An argument might be that his methods wouldn’t stand true for affluent countries with high literacy rates; however, Freire also taught in Europe and in the United States, and he worked with various educational programs, such as UNESCO, proving that his methods stand firm for all types of students (Freire 316). Finally, Freire was a professor of educational philosophy at the Catholic University and published numerous books and essays on education (Freire 316). This shows that his success earned him a position at a university, meaning the higher level world of academia believes in his methods, but they had to be convinced first, and his writings helped with that concvincing. His methods “[have] stood as a model for educators around the world” (Freire 316). Therefore, with all of these factors combined exemplifies why Freire holds the reputation of a respected and innovative educator in the world of academia.     In the article “A Good Education”, the author poses the question of whether a good education is a broad one, with traditional subjects, or a specialized one, providing practical skills. The author states that in the XVIIIth and XIXth century a good education was a broad one, which provided men the possibility to pursue any career. However, he/she contends that since the latter part of the XIXth century, workers were required to have a more specialized training because the world was more complex, specialized, and competitive. The author explains that, around the 1960s, American students’ complaint about taking useless courses and not choosing their subjects lead to a reform in Universities’ programs, which now included many specialized subjects and dropped several traditional ones. According to the author, now both graduates and employers complain that practical knowledge lacks depth and flexibility, and is not enough to perform successfully at work. To conclude, he/she states that every teacher and student has their own ideal program and that it is hard to decide who has to right to define what a good education should be like. In my opinion, the fact that the author has presented the changes in the educational system within a historical frame is very important, because I believe that the historical and social context is closely related to the definition of a good education. As the renowned author, Sir Ken Robinson, states in his talk “Changing Education Paradigms”, nowadays the reasons why many countries are reforming public education are mainly economic and cultural. On the one hand, the economies in the 21th century are constantly changing and children should be educated to take their own place in their country’s economy.     In relation with the developmental psychology in the human context Piaget imposed the notion of cognitive learning theory as a way to explore the way how to speed up a child’s development. He held that qualitative changes only occur when a child goes through a cognitive stage that is when the child is ready.     The “gap” that Vanessa speaks about the pedagogical experiments shown do not represent or describe or creating reality, but mobilizing different relationships we can have with knowledge, language and with reality itself.     As a scholarship boy, Rodriguez conformed to the banking concept in the classroom as well as home. Both of these environments present the student with obstacles he must surmount. Rodriguez vividly describes one distraction of studying at home, "Mother is ironing, the wireless is on, someone is singing a snatch of song or Father says intermittently whatever comes into his head" (Rodriguze548). Rodriguez decides to evade this learning environment and decides to adapt to another. This environment is that of the classroom in which he tries his hardest to imitate the accents and dictation of the teachers. Rodriguez trusts their every direction and appears to respect them more than his own parents, which is apparent when Rodriguez states, "what mattered to me was that they were not like my teachers" (Rodriguze658). Rodriguez displayed his indifference and lack of opinion evidently in a list that he created. Rodriguez read a newspaper article about a retired professor who had his own list of the "hundred most important books of Western Civilization" (Rodriguze 558). The professor’s list of one hundred books was also found in the newspaper. Along with the list, the professor claimed that, "More than anything else in my life, these books have made me all that I am" (Rodriguze 558).…

    In the banking concept of education, Paulo Freire states that the education students receive is “banking” because the teacher is constantly depositing information in the student's mind; information that is detached from reality and disconnected from its significance.     As years passed along, Rodriguez noticed that he was being driven further and further apart from his parents. This awkward gap between Rodriguez and his family was something that he couldn’t help, mainly because family life and home life were two entities he simply could not keep in balance. “He cannot afford to admire his parents.     Freire describes the “banking” concept of education by saying that “Education thus becomes an act of depositing, in which the students are the depositories and the teacher is the depositor. Instead of communicating, the teacher issues communiqués and makes deposits which the students patiently receive, memorize, and repeat” (Freire 244). He uses the metaphor of depositor and depositories to relate to a bank. The organized mindlessness of business between a bank and its contents is portrayed as the style of teaching which is seen as ineffective. It is seen in his eyes as unfavorable because the student does not have an opportunity to form his/her own ideas and think critically. On the other hand, Freire proposes the problem-posing style of education. He explains how power and authority are both mutual between the student and the teacher when he says, “The teacher is no longer merely the-one-who-teaches, but one who is himself taught in dialogue with the students, who in turn while being taught also teach” (249). Freire stresses the importance of problems for the mind in order for critical thinking to take place. Because of the mind is at work, people are able to form their own opinions and ideas instead of just storing information and accepting it. Even though Freire recommends problem-posing education, the fact of the matter is that most people are faced with the banking style of teaching, like Rodriguez in his essay, “The Achievement of Desire”.…
