La Quinceañera a Rite of passage.
A quinceañera is a tradition in Mexico, it is the most awaited birthday, and the rite of passage for teenage girls turning 15, and a very important presentation to society. It will be a fairy tale celebration, probably the largest birthday gathering a woman has throughout her life, that day the teenager will feel like a princess, she will also look like one. It is the time where she no longer will be seen as child, on that day she becomes a woman.
Traditionally the Quinceañera wears a white dress similar to a bride, and a tiara, there’s is a mass to honor her, relatives and friends attend, then follows with the celebration, most of the time the celebration in done at the quinceañeras home.
