Because of his sense of smell, he got the dining room where the King, Queen, and the Princess had a dinner celebration. During the party, Princess Pea looks up at the chandelier, where Roscuro was, and yells out warning everyone because an ugly rat was in the room. Roscuro ended up falling into the queen’s bowl of soup, causing her to die because she was scared and shocked. Ever since the queen died, the king made both soup and rats illegal to be seen or talked about in the Kingdom of…

But he was not alone. Make no mistake he the rat and the roach were not friends. No, and they never would be. For, when the boat had come and taken the man, the rat had thought himself the lone stranded survivor. Yet, without even the slightest of agility or cunning mastered by the rat to guide itself at all, the cockroach had taken the rat’s food and half of his crevice. Perhaps the thing had burrowed into the stash of biscuits biting down and thrown off the boat and onto the rat’s island. Either way it infuriated the rat.…

The first task that Ofelia must complete to prove that she is the princess is to kill a giant toad that lives in the roots of an old fig tree. The toad is killing the tree by disturbing the roots, taking all the nutrients the tree needs, and leaving nothing but waste in the tree’s roots. The night Ofelia goes to kill the toad, her stepfather is throwing a dinner party for his wealthy friends to discuss the food rations given to the poor. The film cuts between the two scenes, showing Ofelia in the tree with the toad and then the dinner party, with a luscious feast and wine to drink (Pan’s Labyrinth). The two scenes are shown together to emphasize that the toad taking advantage of the tree parallels the…

In both 2stories, the characters have to cross a wide river. In “Cat and Rat: Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” the rat and cat have to get across the river in order to win the race. In “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” the cat and the mouse have to get across the river in order to get to the village. The next comparison is that in both stories, the cat is very angry at the rat/mouse. In “Cat and Rat: Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” the cat is upset because the rat wanted to win the race so much that he distracted cat to go off and do something else so that he could win the race for himself. In “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” the cat was very upset because even though the mouse wasn’t intentionally trying to harm the cat, the mouse still did because he was so hungry that he ate right through the pumpkin which left a hole in it and the cat doesn’t like water at all. The cat was accusing the mouse of trying to kill her. The next comparison is that both stories, the rat/mouse bribed cat with fish. In “Cat and Rat: Legend of the Chinese Zodiac” the rat bribes the cat to go and try to catch fish in the water to distract her so he could win the race. In “How Cats and Mice Became Enemies” the mouse bribed cat with fish so that he would go with him to the village. In conclusion, this paragraph showed the similarities of the two…

The cane toads caused catastrophic damage to the environment. Almost all animals that ate the cane toad died; as a result, there was a 95% mortality rate. Worst of all, cane toads move at alarming rates. Originally they moved six miles annually, but today it is anywhere from twenty-five to thirty-five (Guarino [2-4]). Cane toads are a threat to the environment and all wildlife.…

On the first day of the lab I observed the pig's digestive system which includes the liver, small intestines, large intestine, and the pancreas. The liver was the largest organ in the fetal pig's body and was shaped like small bean bag. I was actually surprised when seeing the small intestine because I didn't know it was bigger than the large intestine, it was a series of long brown tubes. The pancreas of a fetal pig is along the bottom of the stomach. The pancreas is a bumpy yellowish brown gland.…

For as long as man has known about Cats and mice, the two creatures have never gotten along. I know that these creatures do not get along because every Saturday morning I used to wake up and watch Tom and Jerry. In Tom and Jerry, Tom the Cat would always chase Jerry and Jerry always seemed to be a little bit smarter with better plans than Tom. These two creatures would go back and forth chasing each other and fighting just like they do in real life. “The Legend of Cat and Rat” and the story “ How cats and Mice Became Enemies” explain the stories of how people think Cat and Rat became enemies. These two stories tell a similar tale, such as how the Cat gets mad at the rat, and in both stories they are crossing a river.…

The element of twisted love was portrayed in both stories. In Hop-Frog, Trippetta stands up for Hop-frog while he was being harassed by the king. While doing so, the King threw wine in her face. Hop-frog then began to speak gibberish and told the King about a wonderful costume idea. As the king went along with Hop-frog’s idea, Hop-frog was actually plotting the deaths of the eight men. He got the men all dressed up, just to hang them from the ceiling and burn them. Hop-frog obviously killed them out of his love for Trippetta because the king disrespected her and Hop-frog wanted revenge. The story of The Black…
