Slide 1: Kristallnacht better known as (The Night of the Broken Glass) took place on November 9, 1938, on this day nearly 8,000 Jewish owned shops were destroyed and looted, 267 synagogues were burnt, along with 30,000 Jews captured and moved to concentration camps. But what did this Jewish community do to deserve this?.
Slide 2: A short history about Adolf Hitler was that he was born on the 20 of April in 1889 till 30th of April in 1945 when he suicided along with his wife. During that time Adolf HItler became a German Politician who was the leader of the Nazi Party from 1933 to 1945. The hatred of jews started in Germany when Hitler decided he needed to blame someone for the loss in WW1. Hitler believed that white europeans are to be the founders of the culture and specifically blonde hair blue eyed northern europeans, jews did not fit these ideas culturally or racially. Jews were seen as non-german and alien to german culture.
Slide 4: Kristallnacht started on the night of November 9 1938 and ended early in the morning on November 10 1938. This attack had a major affect on the community as over 30,00 jews were captured and over 95 were killed during the attack. On that night the main goal for the nazi’s was to destroy the jews synagogues which was the place where they met and worshiped.
Slide 5: This attack on the Jewish community in Germany was the result of a 17 year old polish-Jewish man named Herschel Grynszpan who after finding out that his family were getting deported to Poland, he went and bought a revolver and some bullets, walked inside the German embassy and asked to see a German official, he then shot the German official named Ernst Vom
