Krishna Devaraya And Harshavardhana
Sri Krishnadevaraya
Sri Krishnadevaraya ruled the Vijayanagara empire for 21 years during the years, 1509 – 1529.

The reign of Krishnadevaraya marks “the grand climax in the development of the empire, and the successful achievement of the objects for which it was actually founded”. He was the greatest ruler of Vijayanagara and one of the most famous kings in the history of India and is considered as the greatest Hindu kuruba king to have ever lived. The present Rayalaseema (The land of Krishnarayalu) of Andhra Pradesh forms the core of Krishnarayalu’s Empire. A lot of information about his reign comes from the accounts of Portuguese travellers Domingos Paes and Nuniz.

Krishnadevaraya also called Krishnaraya or Srikrishnarayalu was born to King Narasa Nayaka of Tuluva dynasty and is stated to have ascended the throne on the death of his brother Vira-Narasimha in May 1509. An empire-wide exemption of the marriage-tax seems to be almost the first act that the king affected soon after assuming the reins of the kingdom. The daily proceedings in the court took place in Telugu. Krishnadevaraya said about Telugu: “Desabhashalandu Telugu lessa” meaning "Telugu is the best among the national languages”.

Within six months of his coronation, Krishnadevaraya started out his military campaigns by invading and defeating the sultanate of Bidar and the king of Bidar's ally, Yusuf Adil Khan.By the year 1510, most of northern Karnataka was under his rule. Krishnadevaraya had conquered Raichur, Gulburga and Bidar. Having conquered such vast lands, he built a beautiful city in Seringapatnam and made it the capital of Vijayanagaram. By 1516 Vijayanagar's territory stretched all the way to the Krishna and Godavari rivers. Krishnadevaraya's conquests forced him to continually war with Bijapur and Golconda, both of which he successfully defeated and captured commander of Golconda, Madurul-Mulk. The highlight of his conquests occurred on May 19, 1520 where he secured the fortress of

The Delhi Sultanate was a Delhi-based Muslim kingdom that stretched over large parts of the Indian subcontinent for 320 years (1206–1526).[7][8] Five dynasties ruled over Delhi Sultanate sequentially, the first four of which were of Turkic origin and the last was the Afghan Lodi. The Lodi dynasty was replaced by the Mughal dynasty. The five dynasties were the Mamluk dynasty (1206–90); the Khilji dynasty (1290–1320); the Tughlaq dynasty (1320–1414); the Sayyid dynasty (1414–51); and the Afghan Lodi dynasty (1451–1526).…

The question of condition, or problem, mainly focuses on what is wrong with the world and your surroundings or with yourself. In the Krishna and Hinduism world view, the problem is the illusion, or Maya, that people tend to build about themselves and what surrounds them. Maya is when people see themselves as something separate instead of the common Hindu belief that all things are connected. Maya brings ignorance, attachment, and reincarnation into the lives of people. People start thinking that they are the most important thing around and do not think about the harm that they may bring to others and mainly their own souls. They start betraying and killing for simple desires instead of for ones own good. By being this ignorant, the karma of a human being just begins to keep on piling up, like it is mentioned in the Gita, "Your own karma, born of your own nature, will drive you to do even that which you do not wish to do, because of your delusion" (18:60 p.60). Being caught up in this delusion and all the surrounding bad karma that floats around leads to being stuck in the endless cycle of reincarnation and having no enlightenment in the person's life because the Lord "whirls them [the creatures] round upon the wheel of Maya" (Gita 18:60 p.60). If one is locked into reincarnation, it keeps him or her from having or achieving peace, the biggest problem that a human being can have in their lifetime.…

The powerful rulers, Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka, created comparable political and economic systems during the time in which each of them ruled India. Chandragupta Maurya took control over small regional kingdoms in the ruling dynasty, and made them into one empire, the Mauryan Empire, of which he then became ruler. Chandragupta’s political advisor, Kautalya, advised Chandragupta on political policies and government. Some of his advice can be found in the Indian political handbook called Arthashastra. With Kautalya’s help, Chandragupta Maurya made the Mauryan Empire the first state to establish a centralized government in India. This form of government was `taken from the Persians because it worked so well. Ashoka followed his grandfather’s example by instituting a centralized government in India during his rein. Governors from each of the regional kingdoms would have a member of the royal family who would govern over them and report to the central government. Chandragupta Maurya and Kautalya formed a bureaucratic administrative system, which enabled them to make policies that applied to the entire state. Ashoka also applied this idea to India during his reign. Both rulers made certain that agriculture continued to expand, thereby increasing their economy. Both of them used spies to help ensure security and keep out foreigners. With Kautalya’s influence, they both collected taxes and had a central treasury that looked over the collection of taxes. This offered many new jobs such as accountants, clerks, and officials. Chandragupta Maurya and Ashoka were both extremely influential rulers that established similar political and economic systems during each of their reigns.…

On the other hand, this kind of devotion and relationship to God is not found in the early Vedic traditions. In the Vedic tradition making sacrifices and praying was a way that many people devoted themselves to God. David Kinsley, author from The Sword and the Flute, expresses and explains how many people devoted to Kali and Krishna act.…
