Imagine living in Africa in a remote location with such depleted soil that growing any bit of grain is impossible and children in the area are experiencing starvation. Imagine how having anything to eat is better than nothing and in order to survive killing an animal may be necessary to ensure death is off the table for the night. Imagine living in a country where walking down the street to purchase a burger and fries is the norm. Imagine not needing to chase an animal down to kill it to ensure another day of life is available. Imagine working isn’t hard to come by in order to purchase something to eat and the choices of what to eat is endless. Living in America is a privilege and being able to get that burger and fries is a privilege yet many Americans are oblivious to the ramification of that meal and how detrimental it is to the world and not just them.

There is no law against how poultry is treated and so they are one of the most tortured animals there is. Cows and pigs are constantly inseminated to allow there to be milk production and pigs to be slaughtered. Cow’s babies are ripped away from them to be raised to produce milk or slaughtered to be veal. They all tend to live in their filth and are subjected to infection so they need to be given antibiotics to counteract this. Because of that it causes there to be a resistance to antibiotics for humans because humans eat the animals. They are also subject to slaughter practices that are less than humane because workers are forced to work quickly so they take less care in making sure the procedures are done properly and this causes the animal to be fully conscious when being
