WORLD WAR ON FACEBOOK:
“OH, YOUTH..! NEVER SAY, WE ARE CHRISTIAN YOUTH LIVING IN 21ST CENTURY.; UNLESS WE
ARE NOT UNITED JUST WITHIN THE STATE”
A person who does not love his Identity (i.e culture, traditional, norms, belief, faith andlanguage) is a person who is like a chameleon changes his/her colours that is to says/he doesn’t have true colour.Love your culture, protect it, used it, take pride in it, be proud of who you are, never regret for what you are because it’s a wonderful gift from God. Well, if we ignore our identity and culture and join others identity and culture, we will still be people who are artificial Identity makers because our bloodline and lineage is still who we are and what we are. So, let us love our culture, be proud of who we are and what we are; my fellow youth and brothers and sisters in Christ, what’s the harm of taking steps for spreading peace in our land, and let us be the peace makers as Christian Youth who will be the future leaders (impossible is nothing). We proudly claimed ourselves as the Ambassadors/Gentlemen for Christ, and I do claimed myself as such.
For Instance, with the impact and influence of Facebook, we’ve been viewing the status updated by our facebook friends, we may hit a comment with negative words, like/unlike, tags, shared to your own secret groups to waste time and make our innocent online friends to get heartburns with the said shared and posted items. Does it bring changes and developments within our society?, or is there any improvement to bringpeace and unity towards our broken societies? No, Never!!! Instead, it impacts the mindset of the youth thus, instead of bonding our societies it has actually widened thegap between the youth of our societies, for achieving real peace and harmony.
We need action with love, action through our convincing songs/lyrics, action through our words which were taught and preached to us in our churches, good words with good intentions and actions for bringing peace and harmony

Once Facebook was created it opened up people’s minds in different ways to see what’s going around daily. The pros of Facebook are endless to the users. Even if a user is not into world news, or what is going on around the world they can view it if a friend of theirs share a post about it. This attracts the user that does not care to start thinking about how important what is going around in our world is. As it was mentioned earlier, with every positive there is a negative. Facebook allows the user to post whatever they want to post without any limits, unless whomever the post offends reports the post that offended them to the company. However, this creates more hate than there is into the people. How many suicide cases have we heard that where caused by social media cyber bullying. Even though Facebook every day builds more privacy options into the network barely any user uses…

In our society as individuals Social Media, Television, and movies has changed in how we interact in our everyday lives. This new technology has a changed our American cultures many of the ways, today we do not follow the traditional and proper ethics we once lived by. It has also had a huge impact on the way we communicate with others; Facebook and Twitter have become the communication outlets for our society. Facebook has three ways it is possible to share your information: friends only, friends of friends, or everyone (Albanesius, 2010). This establishes what type if privacy you prefer when an individual want to view your profile (Albanesius, 2010). Although it has caused our younger generation to display content that is unethical. This generation has also become quite materialistic, causing them to want the top name brands to keep up with their peers, at all costs in some cases. Teens have hurt other individuals recorded this event, and then post this on these social media sites for their own satisfaction, not thinking about the life altering affects this would have on the individuals. In some cases the result has been suicide. In this case there have been many negative effects to individuals with no regard to others.…

Allowing minors to to use social media takes away their characteristic of being antisocial, as well as making them very knowledgeable about current events that are happening in the world they live in. It is shown in a study at Eastwood High School that two in three students who eat alone during lunch have absolutely no social media to interact with others. This shows that social media plays a key factor in the interaction of the making of new friends. Along with the making of new friends there is also the gaining of knowledge about certain events occurring in our world. As shown in a CNN study over the years, allowing children to watch the CNN student news gives them a lot of knowledge about the world which does not make them oblivious to these things like many other people are around the United States. This allows the students to realize that they should be thankful for…

However, the authors inform us that that is not the case. In fact, they state that most teens use social media for good and I believe that that is the most profound point of this chapter (p. 34). Even with cyberbullying being as prevalent as it is today, it is still not the norm, making the take home message from this chapter being that the benefits of social media outweigh the risks. These benefits include things such as giving teens a way to feel connected to their peers, a way to discover who they are as a person and what they believe in, as well as giving them a platform to express themselves that makes them feel as though they are being heard and taken seriously (2015). One quandary that teens experience is a desire to stand out and feel unique, while still desiring to fit in with their peers and feel like they are a part of the crowd; being a part of the smartphone society allows teens to do just that. While this chapter emphasizes how social media benefits teens, the authors surprisingly did not mention any specific instances of these positive experiences that teens have had. Throughout the chapter, they provide 8 different quotes from kids that have experienced the negative effects of social media; however, they did not supply any quotes for positive experiences. In a chapter that focuses on the benefits of a smartphone society, I…

Social networking is all the rage with society. It is a main outlet for both personal and professional networking. Whether its job related and trying to put the word out for prospective employers or just connecting with a long distance friend via instant message, there aren’t too many people who have not taken advantage of this option to connect with others. There are not many households without the technology to take advantage of this option in communication. It seems to be the main form of contact within society today. The problem with this method of communication is that it does not allow for strong face to face interaction and allows society to in a sense to hide themselves. This inherently has led to a society with lower self esteem and has put a wall up with its users lowering standards of social interaction. It has had such a negative impact and should be used with greater caution especially within the teenage and young adult generation. Such sites as Facebook, Myspace and orkut have had an extremely negative impact on society and what should be perceived as acceptable. Social Networks and the ideas and activities associated with these networks have become profoundly detrimental to society today. It has escalated into much more impressive problems such as cyber bullying, intense obsession and lessened interpersonal communication skills.…

The positive effect is people being more confident in themselves. When people go out into the real world, they will get hated on no matter what you look like or what they do. That is how our generation is and it is horrible. For the people who stay home all the time; they go to the Internet and social media to find those friends who like them for who they actually are and not what they pretend to be. I am a person who loves being online because I do not really get hated on for who and what I love. Yes, there is haters online but it does not hurt as much online as in person. Social networking sites allow you to connect with old friends from high school, family that lives far away, in my case, even in another country as missionaries, friends down the street, coworkers, and just about anyone else you can think of. This can make you feel more connected to the world around you. You can keep up with what everyone is doing and accomplishing in their lives very easily through statuses and pictures posted every day. I have met new family members, whether by marriage or by birth, through Facebook who I otherwise have not had the opportunity to meet. One of my uncles, who recently passed away, had an affair about thirty years ago and did not realize he had a son from that affair until his son decided to find his father. Facebook is the only way I have been able to meet my new found cousin and his family. But when you start looking at the downside of social networking, it can make you wonder if it is really worth the cost. There have been many debates on the issues of using these sites for many years, so there have been quite a few downsides brought to the public’s attention such as health issues like anxiety or depression, lower grades for students of all levels, decreased productivity in the workplace, someone being stalked and so forth. Since there are way too many to cover in this paper, I am going to concentrate on three that I feel are some of the most important issues. Some of the issues with social networking sites are identity theft made easier, cyber bullying, which has caused many suicides, and strong face-to-face relationships suffering and being replaced by weaker online relationships.…

These sources, especially Facebook, have caused people to focus almost exclusively on themselves. It causes teens to be mostly concerned with expressing their own likes and dislikes. People lose track of helping others. These systems have hindered communication because they start to eliminate the act of listening. It is in fact much more beneficial and better to follow God’s word and be “swift to hear and slow to speak”(Pack 3). Listening causes a bond and the ability to learn new things about a person. This however cannot be done if we are constantly focused on what we did today, what will make us happy,…

Social media and networking has erupted in the past few years. The means in which individuals communicate has shifted to a point where some cannot even remember living differently. This new age has brought many advances in the ways we live; it also though has hindered the ways in which humans physically function. Whether you were born in the 60's or in the past 10 years, this impact has had a ripple effect and is now changing everyone. People are now able to communicate in seconds across the world. Businesses have made connections that may not have been possible before this new technological age. With this new technology and cyber life, has also come many challenges. These challenges exist in the human mind. Sigmund Freud brought into play the idea that the human mind actually has a series of what can be seen as checks and balances. These checks and balances, the ego, id and superego are there to help humans maintain a stable, comfortable life. Changes though can sometimes be too much and they can actually harm they ways in which humans think and interact. Facebook and Twitter are just two of the thousands of social media sites that have embedded into our lives and changed the way we communicate, interact and the decisions we make. The changes that have come have cause people to become vulnerable and the minds across the world have become an open to influences both good and bad.…

The great thing about the study of culture actually has a way of training and fine tuning our communication skills for all types of contact with people, especially for sharing the message of Christ. This may sound like “a far reach” to those who do not understand, to those who are simply indifferent and uninterested, or perhaps they are among those who feel that when it comes to culture, being different means…being defective.…

Elaine Ayana A. SiaContrary to what many people think, Social Media actually has a negative effect on teenagers. Social media is a medium of communication shared by most adults and children, but most especially teenagers. It is sometimes helpful, entertaining and within the reach of the general public. It has become an important mass media around the world. Sadly, this resource is abused and taken advantage by most teenagers, and not used in a way that they could get the best benefits from. It can have negative effects on teenagers like addiction, psychological problems and cyber bullying which can decrease their self-esteem that can lead to depression and possibly self-harm.…
