Kepler Community Case Study
These are brainstormed solutions that will be used to address the problem of language barriers in Kepler community.
• Website: this is a solution that will be used so as to help Kepler employees to learn English, especially listening. On that website, there will videos which help people to learn English. Those videos will be more about conversation between native English speakers. After, there will be a short listening assignment whereby people will write down what they understood from the videos. This is the most sensible solution because it is easily applicable. Since Kepler community uses technology in their daily activities, employees will directly be familiar with website. So the solution is feasible. Again, it will be easily to access

There will be two classes in a week where by each class will have one hour. During this workshop, employees will be given videos to listen during their own time. When they come in the class, there will be a share out of what they understood from the video. Later during the class time, there will be a short listening assignment. During this time, video will be given and question which will be asked will be more about comprehension.
• Posting papers on wall: this is another way which will be used in order to help Kepler employees to learn about English. Through the use of chat papers on office wall, employees will get change to look around them so as to learn about phonetics. Learning that phonetics will help them to be familiar with accent that their employers use where they are in meetings. This is the most unexpected because it is not common to see old by using chat papers hanged in the room.
• Books: this is an English book that will be given to every employee so as to learn more about English accent. The book will be small so as that people will not be overloaded with many tasks. The book will contain words, their phonetics and how one can read those words in Kinyarwanda. At the end of each chapter, there will be a small assignment where everyone will be required to complete it

Employees will be suggested with different online tutorials which teach them listening English. There will be songs and daily English lesson. One of the tutorials which will be suggested is “My English Page”.
• Networking events: this is another strategy that can be used while teaching Kepler employees to learn listening English. There will be a monthly networking event which joint Kepler employers and employees. This will bring employees to high exposition to the accent of their employers. This is the most delightful because even employees will not recognize that they are learning. Through the discussion, they will find themselves discussing with their employers without any problem.
I will the test the solution of creating a website which will help employees to learn listening English. This is because it is easy to implement that solution. Kepler is a university program which technology based. This means that employees are familiar with technology. They will not need someone to teach them how to use softwares. In addition, it will be easy to assess the success of the solution since employees will work on an assignment. Based on grade they will receive, it will be clear that they got the material or not.
