Everyone has a place where they go to escape all the pressure and uncertainties of life. There is always that one spot that can soothe all your problems and troubles in times of stress. For me, the beach is the ultimate cure to all my problems. While I am there, all my obligations are suddenly erased. As I stroll along I can feel the soft smooth sand beneath my feet. I am taken in by the calming atmosphere that encircles me. I close my eyes, letting myself absorb the blistering rays of the sun on a scorching summer day. I am comforted by the sounds of the ocean; the rhythmic pounding of the waves suppressing all of my worries. I look into the cloudless blue sky and see the perfection of life. I often want to be like a seagull, drifting endlessly in the wind without a care in the world. As I sit in my chair I can see all the sights of summer. Children building sandcastles along the ocean’s edge, to my right I observe an elderly couple indulged in a good book. I am soon at the point where my skin can no longer stand the ruthless heat of the blazing summer sun. I run as fast as my feet can carry me toward what my body sees as a endless pool of crystal blue water. I dive into the crashing waves head first. The shock of the frigid water takes my breath away leaving me momentarily stunned. However I quickly recover as my body adjusts to the cold water. Floating peacefully among the waves, I am unaware of the approaching waves that are soon to break over me. Crash! A outrageous wave has just taken me over. Its force knocks me to the sandy bottom of the ocean. I am rejuvenated and awakened as I am carried back to the shore. Exhausted, I return to my peaceful spot on the beach. I quickly find myself once again blazing under the warmth of the summer sun. Now that I am relaxed, I allow myself to close my eyes and drift off for a serene nap. I am soon arousing but the sounds of birds scurrying about for the food along the shore line. I open my eyes, and to my surprise the setting sun hangs in the sky like a red orange balloon off in the distance. I find myself alone on the beach. The waves has cease to the crash on the shores, the calm waves gently roll onto the sand. The sky changed into a colorful horizon filled with endless streams of purple and blue. As the daytime falls to the gloom of night I can feel the change in temperature on my skin. An unpleasantly cold mist can be felt in the wind blowing off the tranquil sea. My walk back along the sand I am reminded of those obligations that have evaded me on my peaceful journey. Tomorrow brings school and work; however I am not the least upset. I do not see Monday as the start of a long week of demanding work. Instead I see it as a countdown; six more days until I can once again be escorted off to the place where all the pressures and worries of life seem to just fade away.

She struggles against the ripping force of the ocean current. Her arms are quickly tiring from swimming against it. She relaxes, letting her muscles fall limp. Within seconds, she is pushed out to sea. The people on the beach are so small, little tiny ants against a white sand backdrop. The tall condo skyscrapers are now tiny Lego buildings. The kids hollering and music blasting on the beach is faded like a distant memory. She will die out here, she’s sure of it. Her daughter won’t have a mother’s hand to hold when learning to walk. Her husband will be left a widower, forever broken by the loss of his love. She closes her eyes and accepts her fate as she drifts further out to sea. She floats for a long while, the salinity in the water steadily…

The wave was murky coming towards like a rigid and supreme barrier. It began to coil over, he looked up the wave loomed over him. His father’s words came back to him giving him an urge of determination “a true mariner never deserts a sinking ship.” It heaved itself onto his boat. The boat shredded apart, jagged pieces of timber where floating and he was left sinking. His boat had plunged into the depths of the enigmatic ocean. The salted sea pricked at his delicate eyes and his spectral face white washed. He was crawling for breath kicking his feet neurotically. He managed to clench onto a residue of his boat his naked fingers scratching the plank and splinters dashing up his finger nails. For him time felt suspended. His clothes saturated with water clinging on and sticking onto his skin. He was wrinkling like a prune. He had a vacant expression, solitude was conquering him. He had to overcome this despair as the turbulence of the storm…

Small beach goers speckle the shallow ocean waters, Lifeguards alert stop there rise, searching for troubled swimmers or my next victim. I wait patiently, invisible lurking the waters silently. I am alone, empty, and hungry. I am feared, in your worst nightmare perhaps. Whisking you away into the vast deepness, where it is calm, dark and painful. My coldness slows your body and your lungs being to drain. You struggle to fight for air but it is too late, you take a last breath before, your head sinks. Confused, you begin to struggle swimming down deeper hoping to reach the surface. You open your eyes the salt water burns and you see nothing. Your head pulsing, heart burning, pain pumped…

As Bethany Hamilton once said, "Being out there in the ocean, God's creation, is like a gift he has given us to enjoy." The smell of grilled hot dogs lingered in the hot, Summer air from the boardwalk, and I smiled because I knew that it was going to be a wonderful day. To begin, I ran towards the luscious, majestic waves as they kissed the shoreline. For example, the waves came crashing down onto the sand with such a powerful force. As I began to run closer to the ocean, my feet touched the jewel- blue water, making my body shiver. Next, I looked around the crowded beach at all of the kids playing, noticing how much fun they were having. For instance, I could hear the waves splashing and the children playing on this hot Summer day. The sand…

Relaxing is something very important to me, especially after a hard and busy day. I like to relax in a place where no one is looking at me or doing any noisy sound. For me going to the lake is one of my favorite places to go and relax. Fortunately, there is a lake near my house , so I can go there and relax. I go three day a week. I sit there looking at the moon and the stars. Sometimes I listen to an old Arabic music. I go to the lake because I feel free there without any stress. Moreover, taking a deep breath of a clean air and enjoying an hour of relaxing lets me forget everything bad I go through in my long day of studying or working.…

We enjoyed doing family activities, as well as walking around the pavilion and taking part in the carnival activities.…
