a. The Western definition of history is that it is the information of what was while our own definition of history or kasaysayan is the story of an individual. Kasaysayan in our own definition, before Spanish colonization, means “to relate in detail” or “to explain”.
b. Bipartite is explained in the perspective of the Spaniards. There discussed pre-colonial and colonial period. It was said that before Spaniards came, Filipinos or the Indios in the Philippines were not yet civilized and that they needed to be taught about how to be one. It was highlighted then that, as inevitable as expected, exploitation had been happening due to their existence in the country. Jaena wanted to change the occurring system. So he came to think of a plan to talk with Spain or its Government. But before doing so, he consulted Rizal first about his plan and got the hint that he would not get anything from Spain or its Government. Jose Rizal. His works such as the El Filibusterismo and Noli Me Tangere symbolized the events that was occurring during the stay of the Spaniards on the lands of the Philippines. Rizal knew the faults of his own countrymen which is why his book, El Filibusterismo which includes the bad teachings or doings of some of the Spaniards, mostly Friars, should not be carried out to be taken as a discourse against revolution.
