Just a small town girl
Was there ever a time in your life where you wanted to be something that you’re not? I’m the girl that felt that way. Everything I hope for happened when I moved from the country to town. Growing up I was raised out in the country, dreaming of exploring my horizon and becoming a small town girl. The location, security, noises, and neighbors make both of these neighborhoods uniquely different.
My first neighborhood, where I grew up, was out in the country in a little town called Rinards Mill. The rural life is how you would expect it to be. The houses are widely spread apart and you are lucky to have a neighbor close by. There is more freedom due to the lack of security, and there is a less chance for there to be any law enforcements or crimes. The neighbors tend to have a stronger bond and are able to count on each other. Overall, the setting of the rural life is very peaceful and quiet and it’s a very good place to raise a family. Next, I moved to a small town called New Matamoras. There are many differences compared to the rural life. To start off, the houses are placed closely together and that causes a lot of frustration between the neighbors. In town, the rules are enforced and have to be followed. It is more than likely there will be law enforcement roaming the town during the day and night to ensure the safety of the people. The neighbors tend not have a close bond between each other and have issues relying on each other. However, even though the setting of the town is very noisy, I still found a way to call it my new home. This was a huge change in my life and it was hard for me to adapt to the new changes in my environment.
After dreaming of transitioning from a country girl to a small town girl, my dream finally came true and showed me how uniquely different they both are.
