I also want to give you this magical soccer ball that will kill anyone that touches their head with it. Good luck Ekon”.

With the help of the shoes and his strength, he started to fly out of the storm. When he finally escaped the tornado, he fell to the ground. However, the winds were still coming after him. Ekon started to run in circles extremely fast which created his own sort of tunnel wind storm. As Anvindr storm came closer, it was not able to reach Ekon due to the counteracting wind forces he was pushing against it. Western and nonwestern heroes come from different regions of the world; therefore, have different cultural backgrounds. More specifically, western heroes come from the Greco-Roman or Judeo-Christian traditions. Nonwestern heroes come from other parts of the world that would not associate with these traditions. While these heroes might seem to have little in common when it comes to origin, “The Hero’s Journey” by Joseph Campbell demonstrates that all heroes have “similar patterns” (Campbell). However by examining the non-western hero, Mulan, in “The Ballad of Mulan” demonstrates how this figure is different than the hero outlined in Joseph Campbell’s “The Hero’s Journey” in the following ways, Mulan does not have any kind of “supernatural aid”, “tests that lead to the final showdown”, or a “life-changing experience for her or many others” (Campbell).…

Agamemnon arrives late in Aeschylus’ play; until his arrival with Cassandra, most of the play deals with other characters anticipating his appearance. The reader gathers from the Watchman’s prologue a feeling of somberness: “dear gods, set me free from all this pain” (pg. 102). Once the Watchman sets the scene and theme for the reader, he vanishes before the chorus is introduced. Now that the chorus has the stage, they proceed in telling why Agamemnon and Menelaus’ mission was permitted by Zeus. Paris dishonored Zeus the god of Xenia, hospitality, by smuggling Helen back to Troy, but Paris also simultaneously infringed on Menelaus’ liberties as her husband. On their expedition to Troy, Atreus’ sons are held at Aulis: “port of anguish…head winds starving, sheets and the cables snapped and the men’s minds strayed” (pg. 109). The omen they witness, told through the chorus entailed two…
