Josef Mengele Experiments
Josef Mengele was the most well known doctor during the Holocaust because of all the inhumane human experiments he performed. As a doctor at Auschwitz, he was ranked as a chief officer. As a doctor, he conducted many experiments. These experiments lead to his fascination with twins, how the body reacts to sterilization, and how the body reacts in freezing cold weather. Josef Mengele was born on March 16, 1911 in Gunzburg, Germany and died February 7, 1979 in Bertioga, Brazil at the age of 67. He father’s name was Karl Mengele and his mother's name is Walburga Mengele. He had two siblings named Karl Mengele Jr. and Alois Mengele. Josef was the oldest out of the boys. Josef Mengele had a child Rolf Mengele. Mengele got his education in 1935 at Ludwig Maximilian. He also got an education from university of Munich and Goethe University Frankfurt. …show more content…
Some of the experiments that he did was the twins, high-altitude, and freezing experiments. Josef did a number of unspeakable horrors experiments using twins. Twins of ages five and six were normally murdered after the experiment was over. All the kids knew him as “Uncle Mengele” in the Auschwitz camp. He did an experiment on two twin girls Eva and Miriam Mozes. Eva and Miriam both survived the deadly experiments conducted by “the Angel of Death.” Uncle Mengele Injected chemical into the eyes of children in an attempt to change their eye color. He made experimental surgeries performed without any type of medication needed and any blood transfusions. During Eva's ordeal, she and Miriam were put through many extremely brutal surgeries and experiments by Mengele. Eva later recalled how a set of Gypsy twins were brought back from Mengele’s lab after they were sewn back to back.
