A Mid Summers Night Dream

“What hast thou done? Thou hast mistaken quite and laid the love juice on

some true love’s sight. Of thy misprision must perforce ensue some true love turned, and

not a false turned true.” What is true love? Does love at first sight really exist? How has

love and marriage changed over time? All of these questions will be answered with my

opinions.

True love can be deciphered in many different ways. Some may say they have

found true love, but most likely have not. True love could be doing something that you

don’t want to do for the other person, but if you truly love each other than you should just

both want to do it. It could also be spending all day together and loving every minute of

it. Someone would have to be married first before they could truly say they have

experience true love. True love is hard to find so I can understand why people say they

have found it when they themselves know they haven’t. True love is a very special thing

and shouldn’t be messed with. The play reminds us of that when Robin puts the love

juice on Lysander instead of Demetrius.

There is that fairy tale moment when the prince and the princess see each other for

the first time, and they say it’s love at first sight. There have been many stories about it,

but does it really exist? And even if you believe that it is love at first sight does the

person you’re looking at feel the same way? There is know way of truly knowing, but

maybe you can just tell by the look in their eye. A Midsummer’s Night Dream showed us

how easily you can be tricked into thinking you love someone. Like when Demetrius

and Lysander both “fall in love” with Helena. If it is real and people have experienced it

then I feel like their relationship would last longer than those who haven’t experienced it.

Once Upon A Time Review “Once upon a time” by Gabriel Okara this poem is about a parent is talking to his/her son and telling him how things used to be. The parent tells the son that people used to be sincere, but are now superficial and seek only to take from others. The persona tells the child that he/she has learnt to be just like these people, but does not want to be like that anymore. The parent wants to be as sincere as the son. “The people's eyes are as cold as ice”.…
