Johnson And Yasiel Puig Comparison
On the surface baseball and football do not really seem that similar. Baseball is a game played between two teams of nine on a diamond shaped circuit of four bases where football is a game of two teams of eleven on a field marked out as a gridiron. However, the players in these sports are actually quite similar in some ways and different in others. Players like Calvin Johnson, an NFL wide receiver for the Detroit Lions, and Yasiel Puig, an MLB outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers have many differences like their early lives, positional value, and overall success. Both Johnson and Puig are excellent athletes in their respected sports and are similar by their teamwork and leadership, physicality and athleticism, and statistical value. These two athletes grew up in very different backgrounds. Johnson was born on September 29, 1985, in Newnan, Georgia. Another thing that is different position wise between these two players is how they catch the ball. Johnson starts even with the ball and then takes off trying to receive it. Puig will start with the ball in front of him and then he will have to track it down to catch it. The third thing that separates these players by position is what their intentions are when trying to catch the ball. When Johnson is trying to catch the ball, he is on offense and trying to score.
