John Updike's Rabbit-Run And Rabbit Redux
For many years, John Updike has been a well-known author. He is known for his series of novels about Rabbit. Updike published one book of this series every decade from 1960 to 1990. My favorites of the series are Rabbit Run and Rabbit redux. A close examination of Rabbit Run and Rabbit Redux will show how Updike uses very similar concepts in each novel. First, Updike uses detailed characterization about the main people in the story. He starts off the story by identifying who Rabbit is. He describes him as a twenty six year old, former basketball player who is on his way home from work. He sees some kids playing basketball and it reminds him of his glory days as a basketball player.
